Dude, you haven't been watching the games. They actually put Mac under center last night, ran play action and kept the defense on its heels. Mac's mechanics were much better, his accuracy and decision making was much better. He moved away from pressure while keeping his eyes downfield. He looked at the whole field. He even had a nice almost no look pass to Meyers I think.Keep beating that anti-Mac drum to the bitter end. Mac didn't suddenly find pocket presence/decisiveness last night, he was given pockets to work from and showed what he can do with adequate protection. Just like last year.
Both can be (and are IMO) true that Mac has given fans material to criticize his play with this season and Zappe is not an upgrade. You act like criticizing the 29th ranked QB in the league is somehow unfounded. Mac had a really nice breakout game last night. I'm hoping he can build on that.
His pocket presence up until last night was woeful. He def put some things together, moved well in the pocket and made decisive throws. In the end some of his team mates let him down and he made a few mistakes. But overall I though this was the best game of his career so far.
Still having red zone issues, even though that catch by HH was stolen by the refs. Even if that had stood 1 out of 3 isn't good enough.
O went into the tank on the last 4 drives.
That sounds like a typical BB non-committal non-answer.How does an NFL head coach criticize the replay official without getting fined? That’s what Bill was doing.
No its not. That’s for Week 12. During odd numbered weeks that’s a catch - on Sunday. But maybe not on Thursday.
Exactly.....a nice way of him saying it below:How does an NFL head coach criticize the replay official without getting fined? That’s what Bill was doing.
That's where I potentially disagree. We don't know if Zappe is an upgrade or not. But I'm willing to concede Mac might put it together after last night's game. Both can be (and are IMO) true that Mac has given fans material to criticize his play with this season and Zappe is not an upgrade.
Once Lamar hits the market this offseason and if Bill decides (or not) to throw $ at him we'll know his true feelings about Mac. Bill doesn't have time left in his coaching career to bet on a maybe he'll either be all-in on Mac or he decides he's not the guy that can get him one more championship and one without Brady and he needs to make a drastic move now to make that happen.
It’s not a criticism of the Pats at all. I was pointing out the irony. No one can predict the outcome of a draft. I pointed that out years ago.Is this another "I totally know everything that happened in that draft room and i'm gonna act like the Pats could have traded up"
Just a reminder the only trade made before the Pats traded down was a swap of 13 & 14. Which means teams weren't trading out.
The ball doesn't have to "survive the ground". Hasn't been a rule since 2017.No its not.
Once tine ball touches the ground it cannot move around. The ground cannot cause the ball to move and that it what it did. Henry did not have firm possession through the entire catch when the play is blown dead.
Blaming the Refs is weak.
I haven't seen evidence yet that he is an upgrade right now or potentially could be.That's where I potentially disagree. We don't know if Zappe is an upgrade or not. But I'm willing to concede Mac might put it together after last night's game.
12 passes attempted, 8 completions, 104 yards.
If Agholor didn't stop during his route he would have been there.should have been something like 14 passes, 11 completions 180 yards
He put the ball in Meyers hands but Meyers couldn't complete it
Henry got held which threw off the timing
Agholor if he was 1/4 second faster is there for the ball
Even if that had stood 1 out of 3 isn't good enough.
He reverted back to Bad Mac in the 2nd half.Dude, you haven't been watching the games. They actually put Mac under center last night, ran play action and kept the defense on its heels. Mac's mechanics were much better, his accuracy and decision making was much better. He moved away from pressure while keeping his eyes downfield. He looked at the whole field. He even had a nice almost no look pass to Meyers I think.
These were all issues with Mac. Bad pocket presence, movement and decisions will make the line look much worse than it is.
Today that wasn't the problem at all... So many reasons above that why we lose this game. Special teams, defense etc.
He reverted back to Bad Mac in the 2nd half.
Dink and Dunk throws that gain 3 yards on 3rd and 7.
I don't expect the refs to get every call. It's impossible. Facemasks, holding, blocks in the back They have a hard job.Refs looking the other way on Henry being illegally contacted and Mac Jones getting his facemask pulled on the same play aided that. Funny how refs saw with their eagle eyes the 2 Jon Jones facemasks which I could barely see until they played a close up slowed down shot. Yet somehow the backfield ref whose job is to look for any penalties against the QB somehow didn't.
