Mac Jones doesn’t have an a ounce of clutch in him. I can’t remember one prime time signature comeback win through 2 years. Crumbles under pressure. Part of that is he can’t extend plays like an Allen or Mahomes. He wasn’t the reason we lost but nothing about him strikes me as special. A serviceable starter.
Allen has Diggs and Mahomes has Kelce to make big plays in crucial moments when they gets the ball to them. If Kelce or Diggs was where Agholor was, that's a catch and the game is tied and probably going into overtime.

Can't put this game on Mac. He was arguably the only reason this team was in this game with how many mess ups the special teams and defense had this week.

Again this comes down to that it's 2022 and we still don't have any top end pass catchers that can make plays. Swap out Agholor/Meyers for Jefferson and all of a sudden Cousins is the guy who is having his good passes not come down and Mac looks like a megastar. Team needs to prioritize that. They've avoided it ever since failing with N'Keal Harry and going on the WR carousal of trying to find diamonds in the rough back in 2018-2019.

Am I sold on Mac? No. But unfortunately we will never know because he's not in a good position to succeed. And if you want even more evidence. All year people were wondering why we went away from a quick pass offense with play action. It became even more troublesome when the line started playing poorly. Finally in late November, Patricia starts doing it and Mac has his best game against one of the best teams in the league. Patricia has always been passive, even when he coached the defense nearly a decade ago. Like it shouldn't have taken this long to play to your teams strengths and not go against the tide.

sniff sniff sniff. I smell another doom and gloomer troll coming out from under his bridge

Mods really need to do a better job a sniffing out these obvious trolls that don't post for weeks and then pop up. Board would be in a lot better state if these guys could only post in the practice squad forum
It's a holiday - I let it go and it's also the reason why anyone who wanted to could - and can - mute someone in a given thread. I'm trying to moderate game threads less and get people to self-police things a little more, so I definitely encourage people to take advantage of it.

3 rz trips 0 touchdowns. again, you cannot win in the NFL by kicking field goals. it is not 1992.

I think this is where coaching really comes into play. Patricia has absolutely no idea what to call in the RedZone. McDaniels at least designed good plays.

With Patricia it's run up middle or throw a fade. Or maybe a screen behind the line.

piss the **** off, Bourne was PI'd in the end zone, Henry caught the ball, massive uncalled hold on their return td, another massive missed call on a face mask when they called 2 in favor of the vikings.
Not to mention on the vikings pass near the end there were multiple linemen downfield one was past the receiver. How do you miss 4 linemen downfield and one 6-7 yards downfield??

Macs ceiling is probably in the 6-10 range for best QBs in the league. And considering the afc has dudes like Allen, mahomes, Herbert, Lamar, burrow, and Tua slinging it around, we are really gonna need to surround this dude with studs on both sides of the ball. Hes a guy you can win with, but he’s not gonna carry you

Brady used to take bad sacks in the red zone. Mac played a very good game today. But Cousins was a touch better. More mobile and a bit more pocket presence.
He had Jefferson.

It's kind of karma coming to bite Bill in the ass for his ridiculous coaching staff, Judge should be on special teams, Patricia should be serving burgers at Gillette and someone should be named defensive coordinator so we can have hold someone responsible.

Instead you have a bunch of unqualified people just randomly stuffed into roles they have no business being in and learning on the job in the NFL

Bill was absolutely ripped **** on more than one occasion tonight.
I noticed that too. There was an obvious penalty by the Vikings with offensive linemen blocking downfield before the pass was thrown. Bill was livid at the non call.

And the face mask on Mac Jones that wasn’t called is an embarrassment to the league. They usually call that 9/10. That would have extended the drive.

He's likely a PatsFan himself then.

I kid. Sorry still pissed about last week.
You decided to take a break from gasping for air through your 3 masks to drop this bit of wisdom on us?

The anti Mac people coming on here and proving they are some combination of full of **** and stupid.

Mac throws for a career high 382 and they immediately come on here to post how Mac isn’t good.

If you watched this game and thought Mac was the problem instead of the defense/special teams then you’re a moron.

I was never "The Pats need an elite WR" type of guy, but tonight is an example of proving me wrong. The league has changed. An elite WR can be the difference for a lot of teams. The biggest difference between Mac Jones and Kirk Cousins tonight wasn't the two QBs. It was Justin Jefferson.

Certainly a game of highs and lows. Was definitely winnable but the mental mistakes were costly. Thought one of the face masks on Jones was garbage. Really wish they would slightly change the rule regarding kicker penalties. These cats are certainly taking pages from the NBA. Of course any kind of collision contact should be ruled out but touching his fully extended leg that he leaves out there is kind of tic tac.

Is what is. 6-5.

I am looking forward to this thread being positive because Mac had a career high.

Against the Jets (x2) and the Colts a lot of people were on here saying the story wasn’t the win but Mac playing poorly.

I’m excited to see people be intellectually consistent and focus glowingly on how Mac played rather than the other phases of the games.

Personally I find this loss a lot more frustrating than the wins people were whining about. Refs screwed the Pats, but also the penalties to extend drives hurt (Judon offsides on 3rd and long to get the Vikings in a manageable situation as well as the Strong running into the kicker)
Dude did you see the ridiculous sacks he took lol? The one at the end of the first half was particularly egregious. He threw the ball fine for most of the game, but the dude has zero clutchness or game awareness.

This game felt like park avenue payback for ripping the Jetes heart out last week and serving it to them on a platter

Can I join the chorus that the announcers were partisan? Tony Dungy sucks.

Mute the sound. Life is too short to get all upset at what’s being said.

Try it. It’s weird at first. But you’ll get used to it.

Or put the radio on and listen to Bob and Scott.

and Another thing.
Whoever replaces Patricia, please remove All of these stupid ass plays where 2 receivers and ending their ****ing routers right on top of each other.

I saw at least 4 instances tonight where passes were at 2 dudes that were within a yard of each other. Even if the catch is made, they Immediately collide.
