A Must See? - "80 For Brady" Movie

Looks funny. I can't wait to see it on opening night.

I'm pretty sure I could get a hard on for Jane Fonda and Sally Field still.

I'd take my mom to see it. Why not?

Because images from this disaster will haunt your slumber for weeks to come.

You're doing better than Tom Brady, he couldn't get one for Gisele.

If you watched any of the Netflix series, "Grace and Frankie", starring Tomlin & Fonda, you'd know that these "aging actresses" are still funny as hell.
The problem for Fonda is that there are still enough of us old fogies around who remember her posing for photos with a North Korean cannon during Vietnam.

Lily Tomlin has always been funny.

Have you ever read her side of what happened during that photo? You should. It wasn't what we were always told back then.

Though you might not want to read it, I'll post it here for those that might want to hear what she said happened that day...
"I memorized a song called 'Day Ma Di', written by anti-war South Vietnamese students. I knew I was slaughtering it, but everyone seemed delighted that I was making the attempt. I finished. Everyone was laughing and clapping, including me."

"Here is my best, honest recollection of what happened: Someone (I don't remember who) led me towards the gun, and I sat down, still laughing, still applauding. It all had nothing to do with where I was sitting. I hardly even thought about where I was sitting. The cameras flashed... It is possible that it was a set up, that the Vietnamese had it all planned. I will never know. But if they did I can't blame them. The buck stops here. If I was used, I allowed it to happen... a two-minute lapse of sanity that will haunt me forever. But the photo exists, delivering its message regardless of what I was doing or feeling. I carry this heavy in my heart. I have apologized numerous times for any pain I may have caused servicemen and their families because of this photograph. It was never my intention to cause harm."

There’s no way you just stumbled upon that article. You searched it. Didn’t you?

Anyway, if I’m Brady, I’m hopping into Olivia Dunne’s DMs.

Why would I not want to read something from you?

I don't remember Fonda defending herself that way at the time but I could have forgotten. What was she doing there in the first place? Wasn't she protesting the war?

I’ve read her account before and it does nothing to exonerate her. What she did was travel to enemy soil to give support and comfort to an enemy we were at war with. She also encouraged American servicemen to disobey their orders.

That’s textbook treason, period.

Used or not, it was a bad look for her, and IMO even worse than most people recall since they focus on just that one event.

But then again, there was the bikini scene from "On Golden Pond". Even back then I was conflicted. I definitely thought of her as an aging actress even back then, but also that she was hot. It was kind of a "Mrs. Robinson" moment for me.

Who the fuk green lit this piece of sheet?

I think the answer was given earlier in this thread:

Gigliotti and Fifth Season produced alongside Brady via his production company, 199 Productions.

Paramount came on board later.

So much for the idea that she was fooled.
The interesting part of her response now is that she thought that folks would forget, not that she's sorry for the harm she caused.
What's also interesting is that she probably votes democrat like the rest of Hollyweird, even though they put us in that war (like most) and kept us there so LBJ could get re-elected.

Btw, my parents and older brother insisted that I join the National Guard rather than get drafted and go to Vietnam. I ended up doing just that but I would never have been drafted because they came out with the draft lottery soon after and my number was 325. They only drafted men with numbers up to about 125.

I don't know what happened to Brady exactly, but I liked the young Tom much more than the old Tom. Doing a movie with Hanoi Jane (I had forgotten that nickname) hasn't helped.

My wife can't wait to see it. Me, not so much.

Leave Tom Brady alone! He's getting up in years now and these women are representative of his fanbase.(Reminds me of those hags on "The View'.)
