Maybe that's where it started, but you definitely took it somewhere else with our conversation .

But you responded to a post where I didn't take it anywhere else which was part of a conversation to another that I mentioned else.

Lit it up is an interesting way to see it. A blown coverage and he hits a wide open Meyers. A pass to Stevenson that was perfectly called to beat that exact blitz. And a 50/50 ball to Parker (the same kind of play that Parker botched leading to interceptions in previous games). Good plays. Not what I would call lighting it up. And the rest of the game proved that to be the case.

Look, I was all in after those two drives. I thought, "Wow, it really does look different with Zappe in there..." But the rest of the game showed that wasn't really sustainable. I don't know who gets the nod going forward, but it is not nearly as black and white in Zappe's favor as people want to believe.
I think you don't know because you have a bias toward Mac. Zappe being a short QB have flaws and will get balls batted down but that's not a death sentence he's still taller than Murray crap my Grandmother is taller than Murray. Mac problems are both Mental and Physical at 6'3 yeah he has problems.

And you're a slave to the moment. I disagree with you.

But did you know that you that I am your father’s brother’s nephew’s cousin’s former roommate?

I accept your apology.

That's fine: I just want us to not finish last in the improved AFC East and have a shot at the playoffs.

I hope BB calls the Starting QB early this week the Team doesn't need the suspense.

On this, we agree 100% Feel free to @ me if Zappe plays and brings us back to that! I will happily eat that crow 100 times over.

Homers don't see a problem there we should just hand the heir-apparent the Staring job based on recent evidence. We are gong to really see if BB plays the guys who give us the best chance to win.
Your confusing homer with fanboy

Gronkateers are fanboys...aka...rump swabbers.
Fanboys are unafraid to display public man-love for their athlete crushes.

Homers exhibit unflinching loyalty to teams regardless of their competence and character.
For example:
Despite 53 years of utter futility, Jets homers continue to buy puke green jerseys and attend home games to sexually harass vulnerable woman, believing this will be the season their precious Jets don't once again vomit on themselves.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say based on the sample size mostly good I might add I'm a Zappe Fanboy.

It wasn't an apology, I was making fun of your disjointed sentence with a famous movie quote.

I was being sarcastic to give it back to you. I was pointing out you were making a joke rather than admitting you were wrong since you were responding to a post I posted to another poster which contained nothing of what you accused me of saying. Was this sentence jointed enough for you?

I'm a Zappy fanboy until further notice
Always a Pats homer despite my affliction to be occasionally too honest about current conditions ...aka.... the post-Brady schitt show.
And I have been a card-carrying Team Bill member for two decades though my subscription looks to be expiring soon.

I’ll be very surprised if Mac doesn’t start against NY this weekend

Generally agree with this post. The media and some fans have their panties in a bunch, but BB and the team are focused on the Jets. Mac's fine about being pulled, he's used to all that from Alabama.

I do think that Mac is the better option to start Sunday though. I was surprised at how fully he's recovered, how mobile he was. He looked pretty good till that pick. Sunday is going to be an intense crowd, and Zappe isn't ready for that yet. Alos, BB hasn't conceded the season yet, he's just trying to get to 5-4 by the break.
I try to go with the empirical facts. Zappe has outplayed Mac this year, and Mac is 2 and 7 over his last 9 starts. I like the competition, and how Mac feels about things is well down my list of concerns. That said, I would understand the rationale if they were to start Mac, and would not at all be surprised if in the end Mac were to end up being The Guy. What I do not accept is that MAC has earned starting job at THIS point, based on his dismal recent performances. He hasn't, as the FACTS loudly attest.

Yet, Zappe managed to hit a 300 yard game in his 2nd full start and threw for multiple TD's. Zappe is passing just as good or better than Mac right now.
I'll say this again: if you're playing really bad teams offering little resistance on D, you ook great. If you're behind in the NFL or playing good teams, you look bad.

Go look at Mac's 2nd career start, 50-10, 3 TDs, 0 INTs. These things happen.

They actually don't mean all that much.

Jones is also unproven. And I guess that's the part of this that I'm struggling with; Jones hasn't accrued the experience or cache to just have the job and be "the guy" by default. They're both young players competing for one job. Jones is a 2nd year player who played well in his first year and has regressed in his second year. He has been categorically outperformed by a rookie with less experience and less preparation.

To me, it's all the more impressive that Zappe has done what he has given the lack of experience/prep, and leads me to believe he may have some serious upside.
Against the Browns and Lions.

Look what happens when your team can't stop the opposing team and you're throwing the ball from behind.

How do you think Mac looks when he's way ahead and cruising? He looks great.

But when these QBs have had to throw against teams in dime coverage, they've looked crappy. That's the NFL.

Billy 8 Rings handled the QB questions today brilliantly. By not naming a starter publicly, you build up the Jets' confidence, even to the point of arrogance, by having them think that we may start the talentless midget. This way, if MJ is healthy enough to play, the Jets will have spent all week laughing hysterically at game film of the hillbilly shorty, instead of actually preparing to play a game of football against their owner.

This last game was a historic low like that Kansas City game when the media declared Brady washed up and wrote the Patriots obituary. The team turned it around after that. I think this Jets game will be our turning point.
