In the Stats it will say he didn't Start...I don't make the NFL rules.

That's fine, but you have to apply just a tiny bit of critical thinking when looking at stats, otherwise they're meaningless... regardless of who makes the rules.

So are you say if the Pats won on Monday night, Jones and not Zappe would have gotten credit for the win?

What it tells me is that the Coaches saw enough of the other guy who couldn't move the Team. Sometimes you have to Lose to Win I hope they play Zappe from here onward.

Kind of a disingenuous stat there... yes, 2-0 as the QB who took the first snap of the game. But he played 3.5 qtrs plus OT and lost to a Packers team that, in retrospect, looks pretty disjointed. He then played 3.5 qtrs against the Bears and they lost 23-14 during his time. They weren't "starts" but he played the vast majority of the snaps.
2W > 1W
Siri tells me it is 100% better

No Zappe would have got credit for the win he gave them a brief lead and the Defense crapped the bed. Justin Fields and Chicago tore them a new one the Defense First and First handicapped the Offense and Zappe Monday night.

The way I read it: Belichick has Mac as the guy. He's not going to announce it because the Mac offense is passing, while the Zappe offense is running.

He benched Mac because inexplicably Mac came back after 3 weeks and made the same mistake, a careless interception.
Yet, Zappe managed to hit a 300 yard game in his 2nd full start and threw for multiple TD's. Zappe is passing just as good or better than Mac right now.

Based on two games that he was just asked not to screw up and only one game where he was actually really good?
He was really good in two games, in fact he matched an NFL record not done in over 40 years in those two games. He also came out in the Bears game and lit it up for two drives. One where Mac managed 13 total yards through the air

You cannot have it both ways. Either you get credit or don't get credit for the game. You can't pick and choose and decide not to give Zappe credit for the loss, but give him the credit if they would have won.

He was really good in one game. He was good in another. And Zappe finished the Bears games with four batted balls at the line of scrimmage and two INTs. Let's not cherry pick everything.

Lit it up is an interesting way to see it. A blown coverage and he hits a wide open Meyers. A pass to Stevenson that was perfectly called to beat that exact blitz. And a 50/50 ball to Parker (the same kind of play that Parker botched leading to interceptions in previous games). Good plays. Not what I would call lighting it up. And the rest of the game proved that to be the case.

Look, I was all in after those two drives. I thought, "Wow, it really does look different with Zappe in there..." But the rest of the game showed that wasn't really sustainable. I don't know who gets the nod going forward, but it is not nearly as black and white in Zappe's favor as people want to believe.

Homers don't see a problem there we should just hand the heir-apparent the Staring job based on recent evidence. We are gong to really see if BB plays the guys who give us the best chance to win.

I like how we are comparing a 2nd year QB vs. a rookie, where the rookie has played demonstrably better. Zappe overall has much better stats, of course he's going to have drives where the defenses give him fits. He's a rookie, the fact is that a rookie is vastly outplaying our 2nd year QB. He's doing a lot of the intangible things right.

He brought us from behind in a game where Mac managed 13 total yards in 3 series and an interception...13 YARDS. Kill me dude, Mac has been ****ting the bed all year. Zappe has had two great performances and a he lost the first game he came in after an injury and the second game after we threw away the lead with 3 horrible series and got behind. He's a rookie, you can't expect him to play like a vet every down. So yeah, I give him more rope than Mac because he's using that rope much better overall.

I think it is, the Bears game planned for us really well. Mac had 13 yards passing. They came to play, we came to play around. We got in a hole, I think the game would have been much different if Zappe got in there first and got the Bears on their heels. Instead Mac came in and did what Mac has been doing most of the season.

Do you even care about the meaning of words you use? Mac and Zappe are on the same team buddy. How is it being a homer to prefer one Patriot over another?

Not what I was arguing, but thank you for your contribution.
In your "argument", are you factoring in neophyte Zappe was given second team reps during the practices leading up to him being thrust into games when the starter proved ineffective or physically broken?

Who is comparing anything? I am responding to a poster who doesn't count the loss Monday night or the game vs. the Packers for Zappe because he didn't start. But if the Pats won the game, he wouldn't give Jones the credit for starting and would give it to Zappe.

No, because it's not relevant to the conversation I was having.

Maybe that's where it started, but you definitely took it somewhere else with our conversation .
