Yeah I am giving Zappe the benefit of the doubt, because I have eyes and have watched the difference in play between them.I still don't think it was a miscommunication at all. I think Zappe overthrew it. I don't think it could possibly be a miscommunication because I don't think that was the route Meyers was supposed to run on that play and only headed to the end zone when the LB covering him bit on the play action so hard. And when Zappe say that and threw it to Meyers, it was on him to get it to the area where Meyers could either catch or make an adjustment on the ball.
And you do realize a lot of Mac Jones' bad play last year occurred in garbage time where the defense gave up a ton of points because they were toast. You are giving Zappe the benefit of the doubt in a blow out and not Jones?
I don't agree, because I think Bill sees more value in not naming a starter (making the other team prepare for both, etc.), but I think you're right that the distraction is problematic, and Bill probably knows that. But as Chatham says in the second part of this tweet, I think Bill feels that it's not the players' jobs to decide who plays and who doesn't.
I beg to differ Mac10 has struggled with this new O so far just not seeing the field well also not making good reads. Well at least his int lead is intact. We're not sure who is starting, but I would think it's going to be Mac. Correct, no moral victories against the Jets.
Clear as day.Yeah I am giving Zappe the benefit of the doubt, because I have eyes and have watched the difference in play between them.
Yes, but that scenario only makes sense if you think the coach is purposefully trying to sabotage the team. Fortunately, I think most of the players are more bought into the team than the average patsfans.com poster. So if Bill decides to start the QB of the Foxboro high school football team, the players should just shut up and win with whoever?

As if you (or anyone else posting here) know what the team's internal attitude/disposition is towards the quarterback situation.
The way I read it: Belichick has Mac as the guy. He's not going to announce it because the Mac offense is passing, while the Zappe offense is running.Because if he doesn't, the media will continue to cover the perceived QB controversy and that will take a toll on the players. That isn't lost on him. He'll do what's best for the team.
Yes they both played badly Monday. Overall I still think this year Zappe played better than Mac. And I’m sorry but expectation are different. One guy has played 3.5 NFL game in his career. The other has played 22. I have higher expectation for the guy who has more experience and is supposed to better. It’s disingenuous to hold both to the same standard.
Mac is 2-6 in his last 8 games and has thrown 21 INT in 22 games. That’s not good. Mac is trending down. I want to see if Zappe can grow and take that experience and do better next time.
I don't see anything on Twitter about Dugger, only that he twisted his ankle. As long as it's not a high ankle sprain, he may be availableNot likely having Dugger and Andrew’s make things really tough.
I think this is a crazy way to run a football team.
You have to evaluate the QBs and develop the one who has better abilities.
And you have to be patient.
If Belichick chooses Zappe, that's his decision. But giving up on Mac this quickly just because Zappe is unproven doesn't make any sense to me, if that's what you're saying.
I read a report he had a very noticeable limp in the locker room after the game.I don't see anything on Twitter about Dugger, only that he twisted his ankle. As long as it's not a high ankle sprain, he may be available
Yess Rob Zappe moved in the pocket very well unlike the other guy. Who has happy feet and seems like he wants to challenge Lamar Jackson and Justin Fields for the QB rushing title.Based on two games that he was just asked not to screw up and only one game where he was actually really good?
The Jet's would have blown us out with B Hall they have good talent on both sides unlike us. I am hoping for a solid game from Zappe he's still 2-0 as a Starter.I don't see anything on Twitter about Dugger, only that he twisted his ankle. As long as it's not a high ankle sprain, he may be available

In the Stats it will say he didn't Start...I don't make the NFL rules.Kind of a disingenuous stat there... yes, 2-0 as the QB who took the first snap of the game. But he played 3.5 qtrs plus OT and lost to a Packers team that, in retrospect, looks pretty disjointed. He then played 3.5 qtrs against the Bears and they lost 23-14 during his time. They weren't "starts" but he played the vast majority of the snaps.
Most on here know I'm not the biggest Andrews fan, but going against a tough Jet interior with potentially Ferentz, could be very challenging for whoever is at qb. I don't think Russey is ready yet, but I like the potential he has. Also, I like Hines at Guard as well.I hope David Andrews get well soon but I think Kody Russey is going to be the better player eventually love his athleticism.
