Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Bowles said after watching Cole Beasley practice for three days, he could dress and play Sunday if necessary: "I think he could. He's quick, catches up to speed real fast. He understands the system and he's played and gotten a lot of reps under him."

Bowles said receiver Julio Jones -- who had a helmet in hand walking off the field after practice -- will be a game-time decision Sunday, trying to return from a knee injury after missing last week.

Bowles didn't specifically address Chris Godwin's status for Sunday vs. Packers, but Godwin hasn't practiced in two weeks with a hamstring injury, so seems safe to say he's out vs Green Bay.

Seriously both receiving corps are a disgrace heading into this matchup of all-time great quarterbacks. Recent history and home field have to give the Bucs the edge in this one... 23-20. The O/U is tough, at 42 currently. Normally these two quarterbacks would blow that number out of the water.

If the Bucs win this game then I'm calling the #1 seed already. There are 3 losses max on their remaining schedule.

If the Bucs finish with an absurd record, 15 or 16 wins, and Brady gets back to his usual passing stats, then he'll be right back in the MVP discussion. His numbers will improve with the return of Godwin and Evans. Plus they'll want to start managing Fournette's reps (he'll lead the NFL in rushing attempts by the of weekend) which will mean leaning more on a short passing game. Allegedly they want to get Vaughn more involved as the 3rd down receiving back too.

It'll be interesting if Brady can put up decent stats this weekend. I don't think he'll need to for the W. If he doesn't light it up by the Chiefs game then there is likely is no MVP discussion for his last year.

Hope they do on Vaughn. White has looked like a complete rookie.

I doubt Brady gives AF about regular season mvps. Certainly not as much as his fans. He wants another chip for his collection. Just win baby.

Brady would prefer a SB over an MVP absolutely no question but I think it’s silly to think he wouldn’t like both especially since it hasn’t happened since 1999.

The context involved, in terms of what Brady's 4th quarter comebacks must involve versus what the 4th quarter comebacks of others involve, likely mean that the 51% is even more impressive than it first seems.
That's the amazing thing about Brady. A lot of times it's in the biggest moments against the best teams that he makes those comebacks.

On the other hand, when you look at Aaron Rodgers mere pittance of comebacks, most of them are against the NYFL version of the little sisters of the poor.

IMO, the Bucs still have the better overall offense and defense. I like that the game is in Tampa and even more so that the Bucs are coming off one of their most significant regular wins beating NO in NO and their receivers were decimated for that game too. Also, for whatever reason, Rodgers seems to turtle vs Tampa's D too. Not sure if it just the pressure or the smack talk but if Tampa does get up early, he will totally tune out with his arms spread out on the bench thinking about his next ayahuasca trip.

Sorry to say this, but there's no way that Brady wins an MVP over any of the media darlings currently playing QB in the NYFL.

Yeah. I agree. If they didn't give it to him last year when he led the league in all major passing categories then he is not winning it this year.
He's also not off to a good start with all of the injuries.
Mahomes is going to put up some gaudy stats this year if he stays healthy.
Then there's the running QB craze that's sweeping the nation.
Nah, Brady's done with MVPs.

Yeah. I still can't believe how good his arm looks at age 45. It really is surreal what he has been able to do. And of course his Oline and receivers are all injured. Thank goodness the defense looks like it did in 2020. Perhaps Bowles as the HC was the right move. I was very skeptical of it but I think he leaves Brady alone unlike Arians and he just focuses on the D and it looks good so far.

GB vs. TB

Two gunslingers

This could be a boring game

Yes, it's amazing what Brady has done at his age. He never really fell off, even in his last year with the Pats. He's as good as ever and I think I'll try to enjoy it while it lasts.

A solid defense can carry a team all the way, even without a GOAT at QB.
