The Steelers needed +5 turnovers just to be in a position to get the Bengals into overtime. Then it took a bad miss by the Bengals kicker for the Steelers to win in OT.
But that was last week. I believe if the Patriots have zero turnovers, then they win.
I have a good feeling about this one. Not sure why, exactly, but the offense should be out to prove something today. Turnovers killed them last week, and you can bet they have had enough crap dumped on them about that to sink a ship.
I trust that Matt has looked at the stats enough to realize the the line cannot protect for a five-step drop, and stick with play action and three-step swing passes and slants. Let the backs and receivers get their yards. We saw a flash of what Jonnu Smith and Agholor can do after the catch. A couple of deep balls could help to keep the defense honest, but enough of letting guys come off the edge. Hand it off or get the ball out fast!
I want to see the GDT set a new record for fewest uses of FML / FFS and/or most @ashley1992 !!!!!! because in either case it means something good is happening
It's going to be a tough game regardless. Hopefully our ST units are ready to go.
But I'm more worried about that lackluster offensive unit. Can they protect our QB, can we move the ball, can we score? Those questions have been mostly answered in the negative last week. Big game for the Pats, and you know the Steelers will be up for it since we have been a thorn in their side in the playoffs for decades now since the TB12 days.
The line is now Pats favored by 3. For those of you who aren't degenerate gamblers, this is a big deal. It takes a ton of professional money to move a line onto or off of 3, because so many games land on that and 7. This is shaping up to be a classic pros vs joes game, with the professionals all over New England. It doesn't mean the Pats will win, of course, but it's a very encouraging sign.
