Even if it was a planned slow down, the ball was still thrown behind. Again, just go take a look at the first angle from the video Rob posted. That ball needed to be thrown out front, away from coverage.

And if it was supposed to be a full on zone sit down in that spot, then that's a complete misread by Allen, who would then have thrown the ball to a spot that would be covered, on top of it being a bad throw.

Yeah it was a bad throw. I said that to start with. But it wasn’t behind him.

The defender made a really great play on the ball.

First game of the year, everyone is healthy and the Bill's look unstoppable. The NFL season is a war of attrition, there is no guarantee that they will finish the season the same way. Hopefully they will be football's version of the 2022 Yankees and peak way too early.

Yes, it was behind him.

I'm not going to teach a physics class here, but it's easy to see that, even if the play was a 100% zone sit down, the ball needed to be thrown more to the QB left a/k/a in front, and not to where it was a/k/a behind.

Careful...if Bucs/Bills meet in the SB I'm pretty sure you'd root for the Bills
Tampa Bay vs Buffalo in the Super Bowl would be worse case scenario for this forum. Obviously.

Any true Patriots fans want the Bills to lose no matter what. @crawhammer and @amfootball are incredibly happy this morning, as demonstrated by their posts in the Bucs thread.
Any Patriots fan who doesn't root for Buffalo to beat their AFC opponents doesn't understand basic math. And yes, the Bills did the Bucs a favor last night.

there you go again... trying to justify your opinions to someone (me) who doesn't care what a fan of another team (you) thinks...

Pink hats are going to pink hat, i suppose
I'm trying to explain it to whoever reads my comments. I don't get the impenetrable resistance to acknowledging Buffalo is the overwhelming favorite to win the division. I'm pretty sure there have been a couple of polls here regarding the division where Buffalo came out as the majority favorite. So I don't think I'm making a novel argument. If Buffalo is going to win the division, which is practically a lock, then any time they lose to an AFC opponent comes as a detriment to the Patriots wild card chances. Not complicated.

Forum Rules

1. IBWT
2. Don't mention the best player in franchise history
3. Unrealistic expectations for the team

It reminded me of the butler SB pick although the Allen throw was worse than Wilson's.

Since WHEN is LA an AFC team?

I'm sorry you feel sooo put upon rooting for a division rival *sigh*

A bad night for the Rams, and a multi-week problem beyond that:

The Rams’ offensive line struggled in Thursday night’s loss to the Bills, and things aren’t getting any better.

Rams center Brian Allen will miss two to four weeks with a knee injury, head coach Sean McVay announced today.

Rams lose starting center Brian Allen for 2-4 weeks with knee injury - ProFootballTalk

The front sevens of the Falcons, Cardinals, 49ers, and Cowboys are going to be licking their chops at the thought of facing that OL. The only "good" news for the Rams is that the better teams are at the back end of the 2-4 week timetable.

since the chargers moved from san diego to los angeles a few seasons ago?
I was referring to the Lambs actually...so sick of hearing how they get the best FA's regardless of cap, how McVay is the greatest coach etc....
Chargers haven't won jack sht in years.

Rams OL line injuries...the Super Bowl winner curse continues

That would be interesting…Tampa traded the 7th pick in the 2018 draft to Buffalo who took Allen…Tampa got Vea at 15

Yep, odds are highly against the rams repeating this year. We’re still the only team to do it in 23 years and counting.

I’d be curious if the folks convinced Buffalo/Allen are untouchable and throwing out “look man, it’s week 1, we’re allowed to overreact” would be equally impressed if New England/Mac did something similar, or if they’d be pumping the brakes because it’s only week 1.
If NE/Mac whaled on the defending Super Bowl champs like Buffalo just did then this place would go batsh*t crazy. If they smoke Miami then the enthusiasm should be a little more subdued. Buffalo was also living up to the pre-game hype... pretty much everyone has them at least in the Super Bowl. They didn't disappoint week 1. Josh Allen also is an ascending quarterback who looks primed for an MVP season. NE/Mac don't have those kind of expectations following them into the season.

If I remember right the last other team to do it besides us was the 98 broncos

you need good coaching to multiple super bowls in a short period of time and that’s where Belichick comes in. only other guy to do that in the past twenty years was tom coughlin and he was cut from the same cloth.

David Edwards is usually a pretty good LG, but I don't know what the heck he was thinking there either...

Not a fan of Cam Akers, or of the Lams running offense in general... McVay hates to run the ball (that's why he traded for Stafford in the first place) and he stopped even trying way too early on Thursday...

Lams are one of the most top-heavy teams in the league; they have some of the very best players at their respective positions, but a lot of the rest of their roster are just JAGs...

One and Done.
