We are on to Miami: Official week 1 pregame thread

Agreed. We've lost plenty of times to Miami and went on to win the Super Bowl.

Royalty doesn't concern itself with the part of the season where only peasants are meant to shine.
I was not serious.

Unless Josh Allen is out, then NE is fighting for an AFC Wildcard. The first tie breaker is Conference Head to Head. Every game in September is vs an AFC opponent. Id much rather lose to a NFC opponent like GB, Detroit or Chicago in October.

So i haven’t heard much about Miami in the preseason. (Truthfully haven’t paid attention to anything but Pats (and now this week ca rapists). Anyone have comments about Phish (rather than our OL and coaches)?

Anyone been trolling their boards?

Would you like to take a lifeline on this statement?
He already bet on a boxing match with @BaconGrundleCandy a couple of years ago, and didn’t pay up. He’s an excellent troll, though. Hard to tell whether he’s trolling the sky is falling crowd or doing some homer satire. Either way, I enjoy it.

Opening loss at Miami last year was costly...we would have won the division and possibly the 1 seed.
You're still living that pipe dream? I'm pretty sure the 30 point loss in the wild card round proved they weren't a legit playoff team.

If the preseason tells us anything then the Patriots might not win a game until October this season.

Yes, according to their fans, they are Super Bowl bound. In other words, they are pretending to be the Cowboys.

i thought you had me on ignore…how did you find this thread?
Occasionally I take people off ignore to see if there is a thread with some news or some subject matter that's useful. There are also other respected member posts that id miss if I permanently had people on ignore. It ain't about you, believe me. Don't worry, you go right back on the list once your trolling starts back up. In other words. pretty quickly

Right now it looks like the Pats are going to need to run the ball alot and pick and choose where and when to pass.

That's correct. I have the final say on what everyone cares about.
Say, you ain't one of them apologists are you?

Well, I forced myself to go into the Shawshank sewer line:

and at least one fan there seems as or more concerned w their OL as we are w ours. His concern though seems more on a talent basis than solely execution/position fit that we have:
The Miami Dolphins’ running game has produced a grand total of 86 rushing yards on 32 carries which comes out to be a whopping 2.6 yards per rush. This is to say that the running game for the Miami Dolphins has been a form of disgusting that makes me feel very bad. Oh, and 25 of those 86 yards were done by the Skylark, Skylar Thompson. Let that all sink in.

The main reason why the running game looks as inept as last year’s running game is that the offensive line blocking has been the equivalent of Batman trying to punch out Bane in their first fight in The Dark Knight Rises.

of course that was before they ran over and thru the Iggles

Fixed it for you
Let's give Wynn and Brown their due

The Dolphins have what can hurt us most, talented and fast WRs with an athletic QB that can run. I agree with Zolak that the Pats have to start 2-0 to be able to make the playoffs. So at least we'll know in Sep where this season is going. I would never say that in the past, but with this "new offense" run by a ST coach and DC I have major doubts going in to week 1. I think this "new offense" taught and run by 2 guys that don't know it either could be a total disaster that sets the franchise back a couple years and is the end of Bill's term. I hope to eat crow on this, but my intuition is that its going to be a long year.

Their Senior VP, Jason Jenkins, just passed away. 47 years old. Lots of young people suddenly dying lately.
