Pats Rebuild Intermittent View of Progress

Trubisky and a rookie WR get the Steelers in? WOW. What a post. You were drunk, right?
Mac Jones and a rookie WR are playoff bound?

Put the bong down.

I fully acknowledge that I'm a homer, but in 2021, with a rookie QB, we went into our bye week as the #1 team in the AFC. Injuries and coming back to Earth led the team to only a wildcard spot.

But less than a year later, there are reports of trouble on the OL out of training camp so fans of the team are willing to give up on the season and on Mac and on the coaches. But people seem to be ignoring the same reports that have also said that the WRs look better than last year, Mac looks better than last year, the CBs look better than last year, the Safeties look better than last year and the DL looks better than last year.

"But... but Mac looked rusty in his first and only preseason game!" "The team had trouble in the first day of joint practices in Las Vegas where they were dealing with 100 degree heat!!!"

So yes, by all means, let's go into the season with pessimism that it's all coming apart. *shrug*

He is going to be a lot better than what people believe.

Ben was crippled last season and the Steelers still made the post season.

Thanks for clarifying. You were not drunk, and after careful consideration and review, you believe Trubisky is leading the Steelers to the playoffs. Got it.

What kind of weed you got?

Homegrown.

Pickens, Claypool, Najee Harris.

Pitts defense is solid.

They had the worst run defense in the league last year. And their OL makes ours look like the early 90s cowboys. Theyre in for a rough year

It's way too early to crown Mac as the Franchise.

Shouldnt people wait until Jones can beat Buffalo first?

Jones could have put up stellar numbers in the last two Bills games last year and it wouldn't have mattered. When the Bills were scoring on every drive (and TDs in the playoff game), that is way too much to ask a rookie QB to keep up with.

And I think the defense was spent last year. I think our LBs were just old and slow and I am convinced that Judon was dealing with an injury he never disclosed.

Pitt had a good pass defense like NE and gave up the run like NE.

Dont listen to the Candy Man he is so full of bull **** like he is some NFL talent scout breaking down his video's. Clown shoes poster..

People ignored the fact that our LBs were more suited to football in the year 2000 than they were for the current NFL for years because the team was winning titles in spite of it. The overhaul of the LB corps is one of the most underrated storylines of the offseason.

But they did lose haden too who was big for them and his absence has been felt in the past, so im also iffy on their cbs. Not saying we’re set or anything but pitt’s situation is worse right now. Not to mention they are totally unproven at the most important position on the field.

I remember there was one play where Allen was scrambling and Hightower was standing directly in front of him about 5 yards ahead and it looked like he was glued to the field. Allen ran by him like he was a statue and at that moment it fully confirmed for me Hightower is toast.

If I remember right Hightower was responsible for at least 2 70ish yard runs on major whiffs. Against indy and lac

And BB put on the UFC title belt.

Trubisky? You must have been hammered to post that?
If they have a QB in the woodworks not named Trubisky they are going to be good real soon. Two excellent WR's and a RB excellent building blocks.

Some here have Jones in the NE HOF already.
I don't! Mac has better WR's should be better than last years would like to see that year two jump from him the handcuffs are off.

That play that sealed the deal in the 4th quarter where Hightower had him dead to rights in the hole and Taylor blew by him. No one talks about it much but I think Wentz only competed 5 passes that day and we still couldn't stop the run.

This is the type of fair and balanced objective takes we get on Pats forums from the negative nancy’s…

Triumph, the guy who tells us every Patriot player sucks, every single thing about the team sucks… turns around and tells us Mitch Trubisky is good.

And anyone who doesn’t agree is a homer…. laughable.
