Montana ratings in losses: 91 (to a team that got clocked in the Super Bowl), 65, 34, 42, 103 (but only 190 yards passing), 39 (the loss mentioned above), 102 (to the 94 Dolphins who I wouldn't put above any of the teams you mentioned that beat the Pats)All of Montana's playoff losses as a Niner were to good teams with the exception of the 1987 Vikings. Specifically, the Niners lost to teams that either won the super bowl that year or would win the super bowl shortly thereafter. Brady lost to Denver in 2005, Baltimore in 2009, Jete in 2010, and Tennessee in 2019, four crappy teams, plus he lost to two crappy Giants teams in the Super Bowl.
You also didn't mention that as a KC Chief he lost big to the Buffalo Bills - who then went on to lose just as big to the Cowboys in the Super Bowl.
His contributions to the 49ers first Super Bowl is also a little overblown - 14-22 157 yards passing and 1 TD is not exactly a dominating day.
As for the Pats Tenn wasn't crappy they knocked off the best team in the league and then gave the soon to be champs KC all they could handle. Wasn't Brady's fault that Derrick Henry ran all over them. The 2010 Jets also had the best defense in the league. If you wanna blame someone for that blame Bill's defense that let Mark Sanchez have himself a day, the 2005 Broncos were the #3 scoring defense in the NFL but the Pats defense couldn't handle Jake Plummer nuff said, AV also had a poor game and it wasn't Brady that allowed the 32nd ranked Giants run offense to run all over them. Brady of course had the lead in both those Super Bowls and the defense gave it away both times.
Imagine if Brady played in Montana's era and got to keep a super team together like the 49ers were. Brady's era has much deeper rosters and much better competition across the league.Montana, as I stated, destroys Brady in Super Bowl rating when it counts THE most. Also, Montana's overall playoff rating is 98 while Brady's is 95. And Montana did it in a much harder era for QBs. You see, Brady has benefitted from football inflation over the past 20 years. The game is much easier to play now.
