As for the losing, yeah there's that.
Not even close to most other teams.
Saints, Falcons, Broncos, Giants, Bears; the list is endless.
The Patriots were better than the Steelers in every decade except the 70's - when we were the only team to come back and beat them at Three Rivers (in the regular season), and would have beaten them there again that year if not for Dreith.
The seven straight losing seasons (our longest by far) from 1967-1973 include the end of the Holovak era (1966 UPI AFL COY) and the start of the Fairbanks era (1976 UPI & Sporting News NFL COY). Despite getting the utter crap kicked out of him, Jim Plunkett still played very well, winning more games than the team should've and being near the top in league passing yards.
The Patriots had one (1) losing season in thirteen years from 1976-1988. The 80's team would have gone farther and won more, if not for Raymond Berry's love affair with Tony Eason.
Blue was the official color of the Revolutionary Army .
Sort of. Anyway, they had to wear something different to distinguish themselves from the British.
Red was the enemy's color.
We have as much red in ours as they do
However, the original red jerseys actually looked cool.
The Chiefs, Cardinals, Falcons & 49ers use different shades of primary red.
Donkeys used to wear red, and Bucs do now.
A zillion teams use primary blue.
My boss, a big squeeler fan, brought up the new Unis. After I gushed w excitement and then complained about the shoulder stripes, he was like:
„ just focus on the helmet! That was the best helmet ever. „
if you get that kind of love /respect from a squeeler, you gotta be good.
Go Pat Patriot!!
I had nothing to do with this:
Pat Patriot has been rated the best logo in the NFL.
The flying elvis has been rated the fifth-worst logo in the HISTORY of ALL sports, professional and collegiate.
