What are you expecting from Mac Jones this season?

Brees NEVER had a strong arm. Never.

What was Manning's arm strength like when he threw for 5500 yards and 55 touchdowns?

Their arms were fine. There's a difference between not having a Josh Allen arm and not having a sufficiently strong arm. Bot Brees and Manning had arms that were more than strong enough until age/injury changed that. The Mac Jones arm of 2021 was not. You know this, so why are you trying to make such a terrible comparison?

Did we watch the same 2013 Peyton?

With Brees I'll say the arm strength was never a problem until he was ineffective in general. But Manning had a few years where he had a straight up noodle arm and made it work.

I don't think his arm strength was very good in 2013. While he had an awesome season, you could see a clear difference from his days pre neck injury.

He looked the same as he did in his 2009 season...

Not so sure about that. He struggled mightily in 2013 vs windy conditions. Remember the Pats/Denver game that went to OT and BB elected the elements

He did fine in the AFCCG against us though...400 yards, 2 TDs. Peyton was always a quarterback who struggled in the elements.

Here's what I expect of Mac in 2022

- Win a Superbowl
- Impregnates a movie star, but doesn't marry her
- grows his hair way the f*ck out
- throws for many thousands of yards and many tens of touchdowns
- Trademarks MJ10 and starts a shady supplement company

I can't believe how astoundingly wrong you are.

Manning came back from a neck surgery and was not the same.

He still threw for 5500 yards and 55 TDs, and he had nowhere near the arm strength that Mac Jones had last year. You're just wrong on this.

lol. not sure about him being "my boy", but I agree, he does have a tendency to want to "stir the pot" quite a bit. lol

im so sorry.....

To jump into the arm strength conversation, the thing is that Brady's arm strength didn't become very good until 2004'ish, IMO. If you watch him throwing the ball in 2001/2002 compared to 2004 onward, there was a clear difference. It appeared to be both mechanical and physical; he clearly improved his frame and added physical strength, which no doubt helped his arm strength. He also appeared to tweak his mechanics, elevate the ball a bit higher, get more leverage with his elbow/shoulder, have a slightly nose-down trajectory when he released the ball (this latter point is also a massive reason why Brady is such a successful QB in adverse elements; throwing a slightly nose-down ball in windy/wet/cold conditions is a positive thing).

I think Mac's arm strength coming into the NFL was similar to Brady's, maybe slightly worse. I fully expect his arm strength will improve, both physically and mechanically. I expect Mac's arm will be noticeably better this season (although it may taper off after 75-80% of the games just due to attrition and him still being a 2nd-year player). By year 3-4, I think Mac's arm strength will be more than adequate and will no longer be a relevant talking point (similar to Brady at that juncture in his career).

Now you're reaching. BB never won any Superbowls as a head coach of the Patriots, riding Tuna's coattails for superbowl rings as an assistant doesn't count as head coach credentials. Seriously give it up dude. Specious arguments thrown out just cos of your hate of TB12. It's sad.

Brady won the QB challenge for longest throw in 2003

Brady won the QB challenge for longest throw in 2003

They weren’t throwing to receivers. So it didn’t judge accuracy. So they just hucked the ball down the field. It didn’t judge the velocity of the ball and how fast it down field.

Any NFL quarterback can throw for distance. The difference between a QB with a strong arm and a weak one is how fast the ball moves down the field on a deep pass and whether they can hit a receiver in stride 30-40 yards down field. The QB Challenge didn’t judge either.

Besides, half the QBs probably didn’t even take the competition seriously and were just there for the free trip to Hawaii.

Including Brady only 6 QB's participated. Completely bogus event.
