So how do you grade this year’s draft?

A good question and one I'm not sure of. My concern is that over a 3 year period we have 5 3rd rounders who have done next to nothing. We can't miss that many in a round that should produce players that contribute.

  • Anfernee Jennings (3, 20): 42 percent of games, 33 percent of snaps
  • Devin Asiasi (3, 20): 30 percent of games, 28 percent of snaps
  • Dalton Keene (3, 20): 18 percent of games, 40 percent of snaps in those games
  • Yodny Cajuste (3, 19): 14 percent of games, 17 percent of snaps
  • Ronnie Perkins (3, 21): 0

Let’s revisit this post at the end of this season

Not saying that in a derogatory way…..I just have a feeling the numbers for several of these guys is going to trend in a much more positive direction

Kevin Harris is going be a Steal he runs with ridiculous power I am going out on a limb and say the RB's will be the best selections from this Strange Draft.

Please send your resume to BB as it appears he could use your expertise
Never said I knew better just expressing an opinion on a fan board.

BB and Groh was Blind folded watching Travis Jones rip through people nothing for them to see there.

Just a reminder of whom Bill has drafted since 2012:

Chandler Jones, Hightower, Ebner, Collins, Ryan, Harmon, White, Fleming, Garappolo, Mason, Flowers, Thuney, Wise, Michel, Harris, Mac Jones, Barmore, and Stevenson.

Collectlively, Bill has gotten a lot of good players.

BTW, here is round 2 of Strange vs. Jones, which Peter King didn't bother to look at.

i thought my eyes felt off after hearing the announcement of our pick.
I question the positional value compared to the round where he was drafted and also the ceiling.
We need playmakers, and had glaring holes at playmakers on the defense. Outside press man Corner, three down DE which are valuable positions and expensive to find contributors, which plays a role how i would put my board together imo. Especially when consesus good defensive players are available and you take the 3/4th rated IOL you must question this decision.
Then two running backs where i rather would have used one pick for a NT, a BU QB in the fourth while you have other more valuable needs or is a possible BU QB really more valuable than a possible NT starter? No it's not

Cousin, Make no mistake, this Draft rots. These kids failed to get it right. Yes BB approves their rookie personnel work but their preparation cost Mr. Kraft millions and I see in a fair evaluation time of 36 months, two starters, no Pro Bowls and one back up.......that's just...great. Does anyone disagree with this?

Keeping in mind the Pats had a couple "gotta-haves" in this Draft, with a couple of small adjustments this Draft could have been up from the worst to lets' call it upper middle of the pack, brought in speed and eliminated duplication and stretches galore. I have include all Trades the Patriots made:

1st Round #29 Daxton Hill CB (can play CB. Perhaps a D Mac FS replacement)
2nd Round #50 Cole Strange G (gotta-have for Pats......ADJUSTED ROUND)

3rd Round #78 Nakobe Dean LB Might have an injury to mend. He can sit like McGrone. Moving up a couple spots from #85 to #78 costs us a 4th round pick #137=202.5 points vs. 200 points VALUE at pick #78 from the Browns

3rd Round #100 Tyquan Thornton WR (gotta-have for Pats). O.K. we spend some 4th Round Draft capital. 4th Round Pick #121 and pick #127= 97 Points. #100 from the Cards=100 Points......ADJUSTED ROUND

6th Round #183 Pierre Strong RB (O.K, if we lose him then Harris right where he was Drafted)
6th Round #200 Bailey Zappe QB (another reach adjusted.ADJUSTED ROUND)
6th Round #210 Sam Roberts DE (Pats most intriguing pic to me)
7th Round #245 Andrew Streuber T/G

Plus we still have an extra 2023 3rd from Carolina

So we would have more speed and less redundancy

We still haven't addressed DE/Edge which we can do by getting Clelin Ferrell935 QB pressures the last two years) from LV and slot WR which we can perhaps get Isabella from the Cards as they picked up Hollywood Brown.

O.K. Matt...fixed it for you. Your wife won't have to start your car every morning.

It was all our favorite would love to hear BB and Groh Explain Strange really looked Strong against Travis Jones.
yeah, i mean strange had a good week at the senior bowl. He had a higher win rate on 1 vs 1 than zion Johnson who went at 17 to the chargers. But sometimes it popps up that strange needs some strength imo.
For my believe a first round Guard should be a guy who can hold his own against bigger linemen as well as being athletic. I think he has the frame to get stronger, with the conditiong programm being harder this is gonna happen imo.
But as you said i really wondered about not going for a NT especially after jones who was projected late first early second to a lot of boards, available in the third while we had enough ammo (third and fourth) to move up and select him.

i mean we never know if that would be possible, some nfl directors believe thornton would have been picked in the second, some think he was a day 3 guy, i would obv love your draft more but it's over and we need to focus on filling our needs via FA and focus on 23 draft now.

i don't know numbers but he had a higher win rate than zion johnson

Yea i really wanted Travis Jones to pair next to Barmore, I think he would have gobbled up blockers and really allow Barmore to feast
he would allow 1 vs1 for barmore judon and the other edge guy more often than our other DT imo. also with better early down defense our third down defense using rushing LB will be more succesfull. It's one of the most crucial positions and getting a guy like him in the third seems like a no brainer imo

Jairre Alexander is 5 - 10
Tredavious White is 5 - 11
Marlon Humprey is 6 - 0
Marshon Lattimore is 6 - 0
Xavien Howard is 6 - 1

I think the last Third Rounder who did anything for the Patriots is OG Joe Thuney. Still waiting on the others and its' quite a bit too.

He stonewalled him in that 2nd video. Thanks for finding this...
