Overall due to need I would give it a C minus D plus… I feel like we left out a lot of positions that we really have a strong need for ….. What do you think?

C-. I like th Strange, Jones, Strong and Harris picks

Hate the Thornton, Zappe and Jones from ASU picks

Revisit this after the coming season. Attempting to grade a draft any earlier doesn't make much sense.

I've come to the conclusion that Belichick views the draft as an opportunity to say FU to the football establishment and its consensus. And that includes the members of this forum who are once again befuddled in the draft's aftermath.

At this point in time without seeing how they pan out and develop it's probably a C- or D. The Pats definitly had one of if not the most questionable drafts based off who they got, the positional value, and filling needs.

That said, Belichick the coach is better than the GM and a year or two from now we might look back and say these guys turned out pretty good and we won't lose sleep over it.

Instant reaction, I give it a C-. They ignored LB and DL (until LATE). I wished they double dipped at WR (instead of RB), especially EXPLOSIVE WRs. I think Zappe was a really bad pick considering the team who is probably better at drafting WR’s than any team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, took WR Calvin Austin III the very next pick after the Pats took Zappe. Teaming Austin with Thornton would’ve given the Pats incredible explosiveness at WR.

I will be rooting for all of these draft picks big time, I just think the Pats could’ve done much better. We shall see.

Sirrously....

I feel better about it than most folks here. I'm jelly of a few other teams, the Ravens among them, of course. I'd be jelly of the Jets but no, I am just saddened that so many promising careers will begin in the toilet that is E Rruthersford, NJ.

Remember those WR have to get on the field at the same time. Do you think two rookies, one late round pick is going to pick up the offense fast enough to displace veterans like Bourne, Parker, even Meyers who has 4 years in the system?

I think they got their potential burner who can make a contested catch and goes up for the ball. BB obviously feels he has enough on D with the free agency acquisitions and possible UDFA class along with what they can do between now and when the season starts.

Maybe he feels that he only needed a few pieces for the Bills. Also, I'm fully expecting Mac to make a good jump his sophomore year. I would think a 30% increase at minimum isn't unreasonable. The guy has been working on mechanics, diet, and chemistry with his receivers all off season. That's going to translate to good things on the field.
