2022 PTP Draft Board / Pats Draft Talk

Really tough to tell when someone is called a headcase, because the biggest headcase of all coming out was Randy Moss. And he kind've lived up to that rep in the pros.

I remember before the draft a GM was in a sports apparel shop in NYC and Randy got into a yelling fight with a store manager because the store didn't carry any Marshall University gear. The GM was like, holy cow, this guy is out of his head.

LOL, why would any store in NYC carry gear from a school in WVA? Seems like common sense…

Michael Irvin was also a head case early in his career. As a rookie, he stabbed one of his teammates with a knife...

He was still a Great player though with many Highlights had a better career than many guys taken before him.

Ok made quite a few changes to the board.

I'll move a name up or down. Might add a guy or two but looking to get at it as close to a 100 as possible. I'm at 100 give or take without the late round - udfa types. Give me some constructive feedback.

Think this is the most accurate board out there though
This is awesome - thank you!

Will make the next few days a lot more fun.

Big surprise here: given the additions of McGrone last year, Wilson this year, Peppers...I'm surprised that neither Devin Lloyd nor Nakobi Dean are even on your board. I do expect that one or both will be there at 21.

A guy to look at would be Luke Goedeke, maybe?

I try and make it a point to post admitting to a mistake. Keeps me humble..
nobody should blame a fan for admitting a mistake then in the end we are all fans and it's a hobby/passion

Wide Receiver!!

You don't care which player? Which kind of receiver? Just any will do?
Honestly

In todays age..Mac could really use a reliable number 1. Someone with elite speed and preferably height/size. More so elite separation and break away game changing ability to take one to the house at any point

I'd like that, too!

The problems to me: 1) I'm not sure the clear-cut guys will be available when we pick. 2) Our depth chart looks decent with Parker added to the mix. He's not a dominant #1, but he's close enough that it should elevate Bourne, Agholor, Meyers, etc. I'm not saying it's not a need, but I don't know that it's a first round kind of urgent need anymore. 3) Have you seen what we have at DT, CB, OL? Far more pressing as far as I see it. 4) The potential talent at those positions seems to match up better with where we pick, based on projected availability.

So, I don't know where that leaves us. If Williams is there at 21, take a shot? Maybe Burks? My guess is that we pick up a developmental type in the mid rounds instead. Let's hope whoever it is pans out. A true #1 would make the rest of the WR corps look pretty good -- Parker, Agholor, Bourne is as solid a 2 - 4 as we've seen here in ages.

If I had to bet I would bet on a big DT. I think there are a couple pretty good ones at least one of whom should still be around when we draft. There are only so many men that big that can move that fast. When given the opportunity to grab one you do. That and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee at mcdonalds.

Yea I have to take a gamble on some guys. Both are interesting. Lloyd bc of his versatility and speed. Dean bc his IQ & physicality at 220. I lean Dean for us but probably keeping both off the board.

Yup very familiar he just tested out pretty low. 3rd or 4th lowest I believe.

I agree but it is hard to ignore the need at CB and OL as well. Could go multiple ways - fun to see how it all falls. If Johnson III is gone, and I assume the two CBs are gone, I am not sure there are any "game wreckers" available.

Didn’t see this posted already, apologies if I missed it. This is the Belichick defense scouting report from 1991 as told by Daniel Jeremiah. Phil Perry then tries to translate it to players in the current draft; nobody on the list is a real shock but it re-emphasizes (to me at least) the Quay Walker rumors.

Right footed, kicks field goals too.

So defensive players that fit Belichick's system, according to Perry's analysis:

-Travon Jones, DT

-Quay Walker, ILB

-Phidarian Mathis, DE

-Jermaine Johnson, OLB

-Lewis Cine, S

-Trent McDuffie, CB

Good list.

After the Barmore hit, Mathis has to make sense, I'd think. Had to be real easy to scout him out and talk to Saban and Barmore. Mathis and Barmore look like twins on the scouting reports. Surprised he's graded in the 3rd round - if they grab him there, he might be a bigger steal than his twin!

EDIT: HOLY CRAP, I apologize for that typo. Yikes!
