Did my first based on the evaluations of those on this site (thanks everyone for your hard work and effort in educating people like me about the prospects). I’d be reasonably happy if this is what actually happened, it’s line-heavy, although I was hoping for a WR earlier but guys were picked sooner than I anticipated. Only did one trade, based it on the Rich Hill trade value chart.

Cook is versatile, 3 down RB with pass blocking skills as well.. would be a great young kid to groom in the stable if we lose Harris or someone next year, or if we sustain lots of injuries; I would have preferred Kyren Williams but he was taken a few picks before

Then the last 2 picks are for some young WR prospects that can hopefully stick on the practice squad or get foxboro flu to develop in the pipeline


I made some trades but it doesn't provide a summary, which is a bummer.. but i picked up a 2nd next year and a 4th, but traded a 3rd to move up

Make that the first 4. Beavers is a binky for sure. Doubt any of them get drafted as late as they were in that mock.

Make that the first 4. Beavers is a binky for sure. Doubt any of them get drafted as late as they were in that mock.

yea ive done a lot of mocks and i almost never see Devin Lloyd fall to 21, Travis Jones seems to go in rounds 1-2 regularly

Round 1. I had to make Jordan Davis to the Patriots happen. He has an Elite mix of size and athleticism at 6'6 340 lbs that is rarely seen even in the NFL. Davis could be our next Wilfork. Gave up a 4th rounder to ensure he donned a Patriots uniform.

Round 2. Moved up for a bit of a risky pick with a lot of upside. George Pickens has the size at 6'3 200 lbs and the talent of a #1 WR but by some reports could be a bit of a nutcase off the field. Is it worth tolerating his Diva attitude to get his talent onto the field?

Round 3. Needed to address the elephant in the room at CB and picked up Alabama cornerback Jayln Armour-Davis
at 6'1 192 he has the size and athletic traits, great footwork and catchup speed, that you want in a top outside cornerback. The risk is he's not very proven since he only started 1 year for the Crimson Tide. But I like his upside and his pedigree from Nick Saban's program.

Round 4. At 5'11 189 lbs, Kyle Phillips was built to be a slot receiver and can also contribute in the return game. Could he be the ying to Pickens yang, offering inside route options? He has really good short area quickness and the ability to release cleanly off the line of scrimmage. Let's get Mac Jones 2 weapons in 1 draft and see how they work out.

Round 5. Matt Waletzko is a massive man mountain at 6'7 310 lbs with an incredible 86" wingspan. He showed he can hang with top NFL prospects at the Reece Senior bowl. He will need some polish but has all the raw physical tools to be buffed into a pocket protector at the tackle position.

Just finished a post-trade mock on PFF (PFN & nflmockdraftdatabase didn't have the updated order yet):




We only have 6 picks next year; so getting Dallas' 2023 4th + 176 to move down 3 spots to 24 was a no-brainer;

Didn't know if the Cinci trade would work because they "weren't interested" in the pick...

Was prepared to take Travis Jones at 31 until I saw that Trevor Penning was still available...

Jones, Kyler Gordon & Boye Mafe were all gone by 54, but Christian Watson wasn't; another no-brainer...

Took a calculated risk with the KC trade, but there were a few good CB prospects still available so I figured I'd be able to get one of them at 94 while adding another 2023 asset;

I had filled 4 of my 5 position groups of need, so I simply chose the best available NT at 127;

Isaiah Wynn/Lose is officially On Notice after the Penning & Joshua Ezeudu picks;

Joshua Williams was Clearly the best available DB at 176, and I wanted to come out of the draft with At least Two new CBs;

The 2023 pick swap with Atlanta involved the Rams' 4th for Atlanta's own 4th... I do believe that will be an Upgrayedd...

Besides being productive in the running game, Ty Chandler might have untapped potential in the passing game;

I also wanted to come out of the draft with two Edge guys, and Alabama's Chris Allen might be a potential case of buying low...

I'd rather have a 3rd CB than a Punter.

And finally, with my final pick, I present to you Dawson Deaton: Thanksdad Ferentz' permanant replacement.

Big fan of this, although Penning will be gone before we pick even at 21 I’m afraid. Really like him though. Think the rest up through Chris Allen are good picks. Allen would be a steal IMO. If he was healthy all year your looking at a 3rd-4th round pick. Think he will be a solid pro. I am biased though since I’m Bama fan.

Speaking of Bama fan, I’d trade next years draft for Will Anderson (joking…maybe)

Big fan of Joshua Williams where he was picked @stone. Thats the kind of player I-don’t mind taking stabs at. Big upside, could be a bust but could be a real steal. Did ok for himself At the senior bowl. Looks like a another classic BB cb that he can coach up to an elite level.

Big fan of Sanborn and Sewell. Not opposed to passing on LB early on if they could get one or both of those guys later in the draft. If I could have a sit down with the great BB I’d love to ask him about his intentions with McMillan, McGrone and Perkins and where he see’s them at in the system. Guess we’ll find out over the next 4 days.

He has the Pats taking Quay Walker(!) at 21.

With the caveat that I have no idea if this is plausible or not, it reminds me of my "mock draft rule of thirds":

• Top third of the first round: Pretty much everybody agrees on the players that will go in the top third, just not necessarily on the order (esp. with trades possible)
• Middle third of the first round: Almost all of these players will go in the first round, but maybe much later than predicted
• Bottom third of the first round: About half of these players won't go in the first at all, and at least one will often fall to the third round
