Wilkerson was working as a GUNNER. That is a completely different position than blocking on the end of the line for punts.
I suspect that Tavai and Langi will compete for King's position. Of course, it possible that Wilson will be the one to pick up the role as one our key STers.

I don't even see Wilkerson as anywhere relevant. It is not as if he is a top special teamer. Adding a special teamer is much more likely than Wilkerson filling that spot.

Wilkerson would need to make the team as a WR. As far as I can see, the roster is full
Parker, Agholor, Bourne, Myers
Montgomery is the emergency WR, if necessary, as Gunner was last year.

If Agholor is traded it will so that we can replace him with a top draft choice or free agent or trade.=, NOT so that we can add Wilkerson.

That’s supposed to be a good thing?

Probably not…if this is the direction that McD wants to go, then he’s going to fail as HC for the second time. I mean I can understand him tweaking the Patriot Way a bit, but do the opposite? What does that mean? Lose?

Who said he's doing the opposite of the "Patriots Way". Harmon just said it was not that way.. I'm sure there are over-laps. There always are.

Probably has to do with the massive extension Josh gave Derek Carr. Josh isn't afraid to overpay; BB puts value first, second, and third.
Yeah.. That contract for Carr is ridiculous. He's not even a $30M QB..

If the Raiders don't make it deep into the playoffs in the next 3 years, it won't be because they overpaid their QB.

Josh wanted the QB contract behind him, so that he can focus on building a team around him.

Perhaps the cap will be a constraint. I think not.

Agreed. The Davante Adams trade and the Carr re-signing are not the Patriot Way of using lots of mid-pay guys and less top of the market pay scales. Maybe that is what Harmon means? I did not check the date of Harmon's comments. I would be shocked if Josh does not work in some of the EP offensive system just like Brady has done in Tampa. I expect the practices will be structured and tough. Josh is an organized detailed guy and I doubt that will change.

Matt Patricia tried to copy it and failed massively.

Josh McDaniels, to have success, needs to create his own identity, not be a cheap knockoff of Belicheck

My thoughts exactly. This isn't about the Patriot Way not being good, but about not trying to copy it to the point you're no longer coaching the way that's best for you. Trying to be Bill Belichick is a bad idea for anyone that isn't Bill Belichick, much the same way I don't think Bill would be as effective any other way either. Neither is better, but you have to be genuine or the players won't buy in.

Never played a down for the Jags, when healthy was a great player at Alabama. I'm guessing he still isn't right. I wonder if BB takes a look.

He fits exactly what BB is trying to do here - IF he’s healthy. Got a couple of tough breaks (ACL in 2019, COVID death in the family 2020).

Not sure why they released him, but if he’s healthy and ready to rumble, he’s Mack Wilson for peanuts.

Amazing how this board completely forgets every ex Pats Coach that has failed for many reasons including this one....they try way too hard to push the “Patriot Way” on the team. You hear time and time again the locker room gets lost as early as the first training camp because of this behavior (Patricia), yet we’re asking why Josh isn’t acting like the “Patriot Way” in Las Vegas?
