OT: Arians steps down as Tampa HC

I don't think Brady will lose any sleep over you not respecting him.

The final straw for Brady was Arians telling AB to f*ck off in the middle of a game. Brady and the players were trying to handle it between players and Arians blew the whole thing up on the sideline. Once AB was gone, with Godwin out with the ACL, Brady knew they were cooked. Brady is willing to put up with AB because he actually helps him win football games. Arians on the other hand is worthless to Brady.

Sniff Sniff

He's black?? What the hell does that have to do with whether or not he'll have say with the offense?

Bowles = 0% offensive input

Because, as one of only two black HCs in the NFL, he's going to take advantage of running team his way. No way he sits back to a white superstar QB. He's not some figurehead to keep Tommy happy.

If Brady wanted Arians out, then I lost a lot of respect for him. He wanted Belichick out and now another HC. In effect it would be him blaming last year's loss to the Rams on Arians instead of taking responsibility for the poor offensive performance for most of the game.
I don't see Brady as a guy not taking responsibility. He always did when he was here.

“in New England we used to run the ball to win in the playoffs”
Who said that?? Brady?

He never said it. Particularly because it's not true.

The current thread is being highjacked by Mac 10 and Crawhammer.........sorry to all other posters for this....they both will not be engaging us any more in this thread. For those of you that have pm'd me.....this is taken care of. Sorry again.

Bowles when he was with the Jets.

2015: 10-6. Starting QB was Fitz. Top 10 defense in the league.
2016: 5-11. QB Fitz, Petty, Smith
2017: 5-11. QB McCown, Petty
2018: 4-12. QB Darnold, McCown

He should be a good coach. I wonder what happened after that first season. Obviously his QB situation was um less than ideal but his defense also just totally collapsed.

They were 13-4 under Arians last year...their losses to the Rams, Saints, WFT were not due to them not running the ball or penalties. It was because, as usual, Tom struggles against teams with good defensive fronts. This means you need a better offensive line and that's on Jason Licht.
Last year was 2021 not 2020, read what was written. Last year they lost in the playoffs with the same team as the year prior.

Only a real Brady honk would try to dismiss what was clearly a power play in Tampa.

Meanwhile my man AB has no awareness

Yeah... I'm not going to say that Arians couldn't have handled that situation better, but given the absence of all the information, I'm going to assume that the person to blame for AB's exit is the one who's repeatedly shown himself to be kooky-dooks.

AB needs to retire saw him in a interview after his last fiasco and he sounded like a Drunken Sailor slurs "99 bottles of beers on the wall 99 bottles of beers". AB got too many hits over the head and it shows he needs help and it wont be on the football field.

A lot of criticism of Bowles in this thread, but I refuse to condemn a HC based on his performance in NY. He was HC in one of the biggest cluster**** franchises in all of sports. He had Fitzpatrick, McCown and Darnold as his QBs.

He may very well end up being a damn decent coach in Tampa now that he actually has some horses.

I don't like it.

Brady left here because he was sick of Bill and his BS. Goes to Tampa, wins a ring, doesn't win another, sulks, semi-retires, forces out the HC who was there when he signed the contract. Maybe the problem is in Brady's mirror.
I bet if you ask the Bucs fans they're in favor of the change and would much rather have Brady than Arians.

I wonder if Arians pushed AB too hard last year and Brady didn't like that? The Bucs looked like they might pull off a back to back until AB blew a gasket. Even with that they came within a whisker of a big comeback vs the eventual SB winner.

They set an NFL record for fewest rushing attempts in a single game in 2020 and got slaughtered by New Orleans… then changed their philosophy going forward into the playoffs by leading the NFL postseason in rushing attempts. This after ranking 29th in fewest rushing attempts in the regular season.

I get that it’s hard for a Brady-honk like yourself to fathom, that he didn’t do it all alone or use QB magic… but facts suck for you.

Screw it. Make Brady the player/coach for poops and giggles.
That worked very well for Bill Russell and the Celtics way, way, way back, but basketball is a much easier sport to pull that off in than football.

The 2011 SB vs the Giants was when I thought that they went too pass-happy.

5 starters, 13 rostered versus 22 starters on offense/defense and 53 man rosters... but there are a subsection of fans who believe QB's are magical unicorns who can propel bad teams to championships like Lebron James... while ignoring that Lebron James couldn't win in Cleveland the first time and had to take his talents to South Beach. QB fanboys exist.

As I pointed out in an earlier post, I don't know. AB is a knucklehead to be sure, but Brady went to bat for him for some reason.
