Is the brady vs belichick debate ruining this board or is it just me?

You think? Which part of what I said?

All of it. The part about the football is pure insanity. The part about deflategate is either ignorance or just plain foolishness on multiple levels.

The fact that we have Patriots "fans" on here that regurgitate the same goofy talking points Jets and Colts fans used to use to discredit Brady is pathetic. Then they like to pound their chest like they deserve some sort of award for being a "true fan". I honestly wonder if this fanbase is dumber than the average.
I know right...

Then they pound their chest in a demonstrations of Brady Loyalty like they deserve an award for being a "the Best Brady Super Fan Eva".

At this stage it's morphed beyond the DOA Brady vs. Belichick nonsense to in-the-tank Buccaneers homers vs. the Patriots and their fans. Whoever thought this great message board created by @Ian for enjoyment of the New England Patriots would devolve into pathetic tribalism prompted by people switching loyalty to another team.

When you look at the fan forums of the other 31 teams, they consistently have posters criticize both their GMs and HC. Why is that? Because that's what fans do.

In our case, Bill is both GM and HC. It's natural that Bill would see more criticism than normal given that he's not only the cook but also buys the groceries. Bill is hardly a likeable guy. Even Kraft called him an A-hole. News flash: Bill makes mistakes.

Despite there being posters that have been criticizing Bill for years, somehow any criticism of him by posters that continue to support the Goat is viewed as some unique event that needs to be cancelled. More so, posters that continue to support Brady's career are viewed as traitors and not being Pats fan worthy (despite the forum creator being one).

It's clear that despite the team Bill homer attempts to ridicule the pro Brady posters as holding TFB as a deity; it is in fact the team Bill posters that are obsessed w/ Brady in a truly sad, jilted bride sort of way. They get offended by any mention of or threads started about Brady while having no issues with threads about Tyreek Hill, Deshaun Watson or any other pos player. They start these Brady vs BB threads and then use them to complain about the pro Brady posters (who don't start them). They get triggered by any criticism of their deity Bill and accuse anyone doing it of being a Brady fan (as if that's a terrible thing).

Unfortunately, this will never stop since their therapy is going nowhere. Even after Bill and Tom retire, they'll never get over their feelings of abandonment, despair and rejection when Brady decided to leave the Pats. The fact Tom is succesful w/o Bill (and w/ BA, lol) is just the twisting of that imaginary knife into their sensitive psyche.

Maybe Ian can start a Brady PTSD forum moderated by a Pats fan psycologist, therapist or even psychiatrist to help these poor folks out.

The Tommyites are still butt hurt over Belichick not re-signing Brady to a long term deal. It upsets them that their God plays for another team and so that's where the criticism of Bill comes from. Bill was 100% right in letting Tommy go. He stunk in 2019 and became better in 2020 because of all the receivers and talent they have in Tampa. Even last year he struggled against the better defenses he faced like New Orleans and LAR while piling up stats against the Panthers, Falcons, Jete, Giants, etc. in order to look like the MVP. I counted 31 TDs out of 43 vs crap teams/defenses.

Valid point. The seller of the football isn't going to buy it back, he is glad he got rid of it after the Brady retraction. With all of Brady's money it was his decision to come back and change the value of the football so he could help the loser that bought the ball, out. Brady could sell his deflateable footballs. He could sign them. Some Brady fans would buy his cheating footballs. He took a four game suspension in case you were thinking he didn't cheat. He never put forth a winning case that he wasn't involved with deflating the balls, just in case you were thinking Brady didn't cheat.
Please unplug your computer and never plug it back in under any circumstances.

Generally the difference between the two sides is the Brady side is rooting for both Bill and Brady to succeed while the Bill side is rooting for Brady to fail because that makes then big true Patriot tough guys. Then they get in a little huff and whine to the mods about anything Brady related being on the main board. One side seems happy and well adjusted while the other side seems bitter and trying to overcompensate.

You sure about that? Bill's team is just .500 since Brady left.
A super bowl win followed up by a near MVP season vs .500 and no playoff wins since Brady left. Chess vs checkers.

And has a lot of potential over the next several years thanks to a young QB. With Brady, the guy could retire at any minute, change his mind, retire again, etc. And we don't have the weapons that Tampa has to prop Brady's stats up. Last year Brady was the product of an easy schedule. Once he faced the Rams, he struggled up until they started turning the ball over.

Ryan Leaf had a lot of potential too. That's not results. Brady has results. 1 SB, 5 playoff wins and 3 on the road and of course was in the MVP conversation.

If Brady was on the Patriots right now nobody would be talking about the issues this offense has right now.

I'm a "Tommyite" I guess there is not butt hurt here though. Both sides wanted to move on which is fine I do not blame either side for the split.

Don't be spewing non sense though. Tom had a down year in 2019 he didn't stink it up though if you look what he had to work with that season

Your 2021 take on Tom is nonsense as well. This is him vs the MVP Rodgers against top 10 Pass defenses...if you want to troll do better

What a stupid analogy. Mac has proven he can play in this league. How many pro bowls did Ryan Leaf get to?

And if Brady were on this team, we'd still have issues at the skilled positions on offense.

I thought Tommy was Superman and can turn bad players into good players?

That's when Mac had an offensive coordinator and a QB coach to help him develop. Now he doesn't. So I'm not sure how much "potential" he has without that kind of coaching.

Brady has results and I'll take that over potential anytime.

I just hope the coaching situation right now is not a result of Bill once again trying to be smarter than everyone else.

I can't see how this helps Mac or our defense which recently gave up 7 TD in 7 possessions in the playoffs at all.

So now McDaniels was the savior of the organization? Yes, Brady had 43 TDs, but most of his results last year were against crap teams. In the AFC this year, the Pats with Brady would be in 2nd place and a WC berth would be doubtful.

Brady was with us in 2019 and all I heard was about all the issues this offense had....there were plenty of posters calling TB "noodle arm" saying we had no talent on offense, saying Gronk should retire, BB lost a step etc....this was coming off a Super Bowl win.

Not even Superman can make Dorsett, Harry or the corpse of Ben Watson good football players lol. I'm not blaming BB either for that season since he did try to salvage it by bringing in AB and the Sanu trade. Just didn't work out.

Gronk was already retired in 2019 but you're right about the rest.
