OT: Tyreek Hill to Miami

I guess that’s the beauty of having such a diverse country. To each his own.

Doesn’t change my mind that people making 10-figures worrying about taxes aren’t doing life wrong.

And wow, why would Bobby Wagner want to come here? Why LeBron? Curry? Anthony Davis? Mookie? Aaron Donald?
Don’t they know?
People go to where they get paid. CA is losing more people than it gains because of the high taxes. That's why CA is crafting that legislation to follow people outside of the state. They realize their tax revenues are in trouble.

7 figures or 10 figures... whatever... if you are actually paying that much in taxes, then you need to spend some of that 7 or 10 figure income on a better accountant cuz they be bending you over and putting things where things dont belong
You would be surprised at how little you can actually reduce your taxable net profit if your company doesn't own large depreciating assets. These guys are making 7 figures but getting bent over by the government as salaried employees.

And certain states calculate taxes owed in such a way that you end up paying more than 100% of what should be your taxable income. It's all a scam

Lol, I’m doing fine, thanks.

CA has been my best investment over the last few years.

Ive been saying since last year:

The WR market was something to watch. It hapened like i predicted: the most overpaid position keeps its place as the most overpayed. 30M on the position is bananas... catches and and receiving yards are NOT that hard to distribute with good depth and other positions (te and rb)

I will say this though... on this super offensive nfl era, maybe a blue chip WR is something more necessary than ever, but the Rams were the only team without a superstar WR of the 4 conf. Finalists and they won it all... they had a good to great unit and that matters the most

I'd consider Cooper cupp a superstar receiver

This might have been mentioned. Jets had the higher 1st Rd pick on the table for Hill but they didn’t want to extend him which MIA did. Gotta love the jets. It’s almost like the Browns in my division

So the chiefs have a legit chance of not winning their division right? They still have mahomes but every other team in their division is stacked. And that offense isn't as scary with Kelce/juju as it is with Hill.

Maybe the cap isn't crap overall when KC and green bay have to get worse because their QBs make crazy money

Miami is taking a big chance. Hill is one incident away from a long term suspension. Especially now that he is back in the Miami area. Hopefully he already has one of his homies set up to be the fall guy.

Fair enough. Maybe I underrated him on my op
I mean he was the unanimous first team All Pro, OPOY and then won SB MVP. He also led the league in recieving yards, receiving td's and receptions. Not only does he have a strong argument for best WR this year, he has an argument that he put together the most prolific year a WR has ever had in the league.

Proof that the cap IS NOT crap.

You don’t get rid of the most explosive receiver this league has seen in a decade or more unless you’re cap strapped

You can restructure, extend and do all kinds of cap gymnastics to put off the consequences for a couple years, but sooner or later it has to be accounted for

But both Teams know how to Draft Good WR's and this is a good year as any to double dip at that position.

Look at all that transpired most surprising Green Bay and KC Trading their Top WR's. Now WR is Need for Them and also us the Patriots cannot screw this up with another Harry type bust selection. IF we miss in this upcoming Draft we could always be looking up. Some of these Teams with their young QB's ain't going to disappear anytime too soon.

KC offered him $21.5M /yr.
Dude was greedy and got $25M /yr for 3 years.

He got over $12 more Mill guaranteed that's a lot of money if you intend to maximize your value. I not going to fault Hill for for taking more: the man has to feed his family. There is a notion that it's all good and dandy when QB's get paid no matter what ...ie Mahomes and especially Rodgers. The WR's are paying attention and saying screw these owners and Team they are getting no loyalty from me and I don't blame them.

I'm not picking on you, you didn't coin the phrase so don't take offense, but the term "feed my family" is bullchit. The dude can feed his family pretty nicely on 100k per year. There's going to be plenty of groceries in the cupboard on that kind of salary. These guys should just say they want to maximize their earning potential. $12m is a lot if you are 95% of NFL players. Very few are going to transcend the game and earn big money outside of football.

Just my thoughts. The "feed my family" is disingenuous.

I understand but to quote the Great TY Law " I have to feed my family" lol

you wouldn't wanna feed MY family...my friggin' cat eats like a horse...
Right? We just switched our old lady to wet food and she got a water bubbler so the water has movement. She managed just fine for the last 16 years on dry food and the dog bowl of water.

My point is this wasn't a cap situation but rather a negotiation issue (I know it affects the cap), where the team may have lines they won't cross. They could've come up with ways to free up enough to re-sign Hill, they chose to take the massive draft capital instead. Saying this deal proves the Cap isn't crap is not completely accurate. The same goes for Adams deal. He wanted to go to Vegas. GB offered him more than the Raiders.
