Patriots hosting Malcolm Butler for a tryout

If the plan is to run primarily zones, he's a scheme fit with Jalen Mills and Terrence Mitchell. Not super fast but a sure tackler.

They could do a lot better in the draft or free agency, but if he's cheap they could do worse. Frankly they shouldn’t give him another penny after screwing over his teammates before the 2017 Super Bowl.
You just couldn't do it could you? Hahaha

You've got to be kidding me. Super Bowl LII vs. the Eagles? I am whispering to myself, "Don't go there again."

Yeah, let's just not.

For a myriad of reasons.

Time to dust off the Malcolm Butler mega thread?

Your new #1 CB
Also working out Ras I Dowling

THIS. People underscore the fact that BB never disses a player on the way out. In fact, other that FredEx, who has he dissed ?
Not players but Charley Casserly still hasn't recovered.

This whole situation has become the JFK assassination.

There is nothing to think about.

Malcolm wasn't 100% physically and mentally ready to play and the coaching staff made a decision.

At the time Malcolm was pissed but admitted that to be the case.

Thats all it was and all it will ever be.

What injury was he dealing with? What "mental" issue was he going through? Why was he still on the active roster?

You didn't explain anything.

Can we add a ‘please dont ‘ onto the thread title?

He had the flu.

You are trying to bait me. Won't work.

It's been 5 years. Plenty of articles out there and 1000 threads.

He had the flu but was healthy enough to be on the active roster and play special teams snaps?

3 pages and no Butler pick gif

Edit: It really was such an unbelievable play/read/moment - arguably the best in Patriots' and NFL history.

Yeah but if he does resign with the Pats, does Tommy give him another truck??!!

Not sure what happened to Butler. Seemed to fall off a cliff in Tennessee.

Maybe he is a scheme for here and can't regain some of his former glory
