Herbert stays in there. He really does. I think Mahomes stays in there longer than Allen as well. Rodgers for sure, as he stays in the pocket. Haven't seen too much of Murray.

Seriously, watch the Chargers - Raiders game that ended the season.
Agree w/ Herbert, he's a tough kid that mostly stays in the pocket. Mahomes likes back yard football way too much. Rodgers is a douche.

We didn't get any rush on him. That's the whole point. A lot of teams are going with substandard CBs now and relying on pass rush.

When they take the rush off or stop blitzing, look what happens.

I'm talking about the Bills without Tre White or the Bengals. These teams thrived with pass rush but got burned otherwise.

Have a look at this play:

See how quickly Allen looks to run when there's even a whiff of pressure on him? Right here the edge guys blow by him which allows him to leak out, and that's when he's super dangerous. But if you can pressure him a little without allowing him to break, you've got him.

Believe it or not, some teams did exactly that against the Bills. It's why they lost 7 games.

The Patriots don't have the personnel to do it, as they need one more guy up front to join Barmore and Judon.

Getting pressure on Allen makes a HUGE difference. I tried to explain this to a supposed Pats fan on Twitter who claimed that it didn't. He made the asinine remark that in games where Allen was sacked at least once, his QBR was over 97. The problem is that if you look at the 11 games he took a sack, 6 of them were losses. 5 were wins. In the 6 games that Allen wasn't sacked, they WON every game..

The 6 losses: (264 passing attempts)
16 sacks, 44 hurries, 26 hits = 86 pressures (32.6%)

The 5 wins where he was sacked once: (153 Passing attempts)
10 sacks, 13 hurries., 15 hits = 38 pressures (24.8%)

The other 6 wins: (229 passing attempts)
0 sacks, 37 hurries, 24 hits = 61 pressures. (26.6%)

In 7 of Allen's 11 wins, he had a QBR of at least 100.4.
He had 1 LOSS where his QBR was over 100. (107.4 against TEN)

What's PFF? Is that like BFF, Patriots Fans Forever?
PFF = ProFootball Focus. They're decent for getting numbers like sacks (though they round up) number of snaps from a particular position, etc. But their grading is purely arbitrary.

I know, being a wise ass.

Yet, every single team that showed well in the playoffs had a shaky secondary except the Rams. 49ers, Chiefs, Bills, Bengals.
And Ramsey got torched by Jamal Chase. I don't count the pass to Higgins because Higgins got away with one.

I'm so glad we're not the Falcons, Browns, Seahawks, Panthers, Commanders & Colts when it comes to handling our QB position.

Think of all the assets and craziness you expend by not selecting a guy (Panthers, Commanders), selecting the wrong guy (Mayfield), or otherwise screwing up your relationship with the guy you have (Russel Wilson, Matt Ryan).

I like Matt Ryan. if he becomes a Colt, though, I'll hate his guts.

Butler/Ryan? PFF Grades 73-75 in 2015.

Yea, I guess.
I mean, I'm not a fan of those grades at all. Last year's Onwenu grade is really suspect. I watched the kid, he had a rough time at RT.

But I don't think anyone would believe that Butler and Ryan were top CBs. I mean, they both went to the Titans and were not retained.

BTW, our CBs in 2011 were McCourty and Arrington, and McCourty was no great shakes at CB

He’s going to have an awesome offensive line. That’ll help him immensely.

I never like rooting against BC kids but I detest the colts.
