I wasn't a supporter of re-signing Brown. He's a hell of a tackle but since 2017 he's only played 63% of the games and trended downward since 2018 (his last full season). I considered him a liability. However, given the state of our OL, we need him. Come on Bill, do something. Not hopeful.

The key is Trent Brown is batting 1000 with the Patriots he played every game for us.
In 2018 yes, last year he only played 9 games

Haha, you got me1

Any way, it was supposed to be an insult. Not a-- Harry is great post.

... but why? Why is year 3 of Josh Allen's tenure "year 3" and year 2 of Joe Burrow's tenure "year 2" but year 1 of Mac Jones' tenure "year 2"?
I wasn't doing strictly quarterbacks, I was doing the whole process. But hey, whatever, either way this process looks like it's gonna be a slow one.

We a spoiled bunch that's for sure. Criticism is fair though. All the contenders are in an arms race and it looks like we are content with what we have. Obviously a lot of time is left with FA and the draft coming up, but it seems on paper at this moment we are punting the 2022 season

BB is not punting anything. He fought with zero squad in 2020 the same like with loaded ones.
First of all this FA is far from over. Its just that its moving painfully slow. ALL best OTs are still out there..
It is also far from unusual from Pats perspective. Actually its more like business as usual.
It is more than 4 months till the start of TC. From the outside we know very little about NE 2022 team atm.

What you call punting objectively its called rebuilding.
After turbulent 2021 and huge roster turnover incl rookie QB while returning many injured/red-shirted young players, putting new core to the test while accumulating resources (picks&cap) sounds like a reasonable plan. Not sure if it really is or to what extent, but would be reasonable.
You can call it some sort of qualification for the next period where Pats will be among the top of cap space in continuous years.

So how does he have $135M guaranteed?

Less than he could of? What a fiasco this league has become. He took the MAX that he could. No worries either but don't go around and say he took a discount. 135mil for 43 over 3 is the max not a discount. It's STAFFORD.

Posts like these make me wonder if some of the main complainers actually watch the games.
