Ridiculous take. Elite franchises aim for championships not one and done in the playoffs and a downward trend. Pats fans have every right to aim high and want a SB competitive team.
"competitive team" means competing for a S
I would not be surprised if all 4 AFC west teams make the playoffs...
I disagree. Their schedules are very difficult.

IN COMMON (14)
4 "easy" games: HOU, JAX, IND and SEA
6 games against their rivals in the AFCW
3 "tough" games against the NFCW (SF, LAR, ARIZ)
1 more "tough" opponent - TEN
=======================
And then (3) more that vary by team.
For example, KC must play BUF, CIN and TB.
I expect KC to have a tough time making the playoffs.

You weren’t exactly clear on the Montgomery comment. After rereading it based on your response, I see you were trying to say he’s not a punt returner. My bad.

The Pats could have given Gunner the right of first refusal tender, which was $2.433m. Only 300k more than this deal. They chose not to. you’re right that maybe Gunner thought the Pats gave up on him, or maybe they did try to match and Gunner said no. I’m just saying that the dollar amounts aren’t too different, and if they wanted to they at least could have had the option.

Anyway, we’ll see if any stories come out on this in the future. I’m very curious to see what the team thought.

I wonder if it's just as simple as value for his role for each team. There were times in pre-season where Mac was upset with Gunner for running the wrong route. If they're not happy with his progress in the Patriots offense, they probably only assigned value based on him being a PR, while Pittsburgh would assign value with some WR upside as well.

I liked Gunner, I had hoped he'd progress, but in the end this is probably better for him. I think he might suit the Pittsburgh offense better (though how much of the Steeler offense remains intact post-Ben remains to be seen).

Apparently, the patriots weren't willing to pay that much for a punt returner. We already have a #5 emergency WR in Montgomery.

I saw the tweet that said they were in communication with him but couldn't reach a deal. I didn't see one that said they offered the same money (unless I missed it). Sounds like Pitt offered him more.

sorry. I mistyped. will fix

But look at the Patriots QB situation. Brady without an OL, Cam Newton, Jarrett Stidham, and rookie Mac jones. Now, I love Mac, and he did great for a rookie, but our passing game was hampered for a good part of the year.

Let's face facts: we've had 3 entire years of less than optimal passing game.
1) N’Keal isn’t outplaying Washington by any means. Not that these are impressive numbers by any stretch, but Washington has more rec/yards/TDs (54/677/7) within the last two seasons than Harry has in his career…..???

2) PIT’s system is predicated on a more simplified/limited route tree than ours. Similar to maybe Arizona. Deeper route concepts where Washington could/should have flourished, but Ben simply couldn’t do it anymore. Just like Brees’ last couple of seasons. Not Washington’s fault. My point is he should thrive in DAL due to 1) Dak is better than Big Ben’s last couple of seasons 2) Better weapons surrounding him (Lamb, Gallup, Pollard, Zeke, Schultz & the OL) 3) Snaps (Unless DAL drafts/promotes in-house..Ex: Noah Brown) /signs someone via FA), I would think Washington is the projected #3 WR with Cedrick Wilson out of the picture.

3) Mac’s arm strength will improve with more lower body strength, drills, nutrition, pliability, conditioning etc… Big Ben was on a steep decline at that point.

Thank you: this BB kool aid I tell you it makes some people try to get into debates about how Great Harry is which couldn't be further from the truth.

Todays the day we make the move that slingshots us straight to the top.

The Patriots are doing a complete roster swap with the Bucs, Chiefs, Rams, or Bills?

I don't get why everyone is so high on the Broncos?

Their defense was #3 in scoring last year, despite the struggles of the offense. The offense now has a top quality QB, and has talent at WR, RB, and TE.

Ridiculous take. Elite franchises aim for championships not one and done in the playoffs 2 of the past 3 years and a downward trend. Pats fans have every right to aim high and want a SB competitive team. Unfortunately, BB, Kraft and Elliott Wolf have waived the white flag for 2022.

and Yes I know its only day 4 of FA

Anyone who can call barely making the playoffs and then getting CRUSHED in the first round by your division rival a good outcome is sadly off base.
Who are you responding to?

I had Anderson set to be cut, this works out better.

Yep, very ok with this. Find a run stuffing NT and maybe another Edge and the DL is solid. LBs will be fine. Need a top of the draft corner and the defense is looking ok.

I'm hoping Anderson can contribute this year:

I hope so. I would note that his cost is close to vet minimum.

He should contribute enough to justify his compensation, even if he is usually an inactive backup.

I feel like we are gearing up for some move.
Just have no idea what that is.

You what truly sucks about this site? When people make up stuff about what other people wrote and go off on it
But you said Harry's production was similar or better than Washington's I thought your comparison was absurd and he did too.
