And it's not because of Harry's excuse that Brady yelled at him his first year. It's about Harry's lack of effort. IOW, I'm not wild about Harryinteresting thought on Clark. But I'm wondering why everyone is selling Kendrick Bourne so short. He put up 800 receiving yds and almost a 15ypc JUST playing 50% of the snaps. And he did it with a rookie QB and in a very controlled offense. Imagine what he'd do playing 70% of the snaps with an improved QB
I also think a similar look at Nelson Aghular. I think he was a underrated asset last year. A victim of the rookie QB playing in a very controlled offense that limited his route tree. He was only targeted 62 times, about 20 less than is big year with LV. I can't recall many deep crossing patterns (the kind THill thrives on in KC)
At the end of the season we started to see a HINT of the potential mobility of Mac Jones. Extended plays are the kind of thing guys like Aghular make a lot of yds off of. As he and. Mac (and the rest of the receivers) get attuned with him. It might add a couple of hundred yds to his total each year.
I'm not adverse to adding WR's to the 90 man roster. Jacobi Meyers would be a player to up grade perhaps. While he has improved his receiving yds and receptions every year he's been on the team, Last season he had a team high 126 targets (twice what Bourne had), yet only had 66 more yds to show for it. So while he's reliable and seems to be improving, he is limited athletically in both speed and quickness. I want the guy on the field, but I'd rather if his 126 targets were spread out more among the rest of the receivers, most particularly with Bourne, Henry and Smith.
And then there is N'Keal Harry. I watch the kid a lot his rookie year and liked what I saw. He was big, tough and had enough speed to get behind the DB's I saw in camp. Why he hasn't progressed to where he could be an asset to the WR groups is a mystery to me. But I have seen him beat guys deep and not get the ball, or seen him beat guys and have the pass under or over thrown. I've also seen a few drops as well; Like Aghular he always seemed to be an afterthought. If anyone needed a fresh start it would be Harry. His trade value is such that getting back a 6th would seem like a steal. Isn't Andy Isabella in a similar situation or worse in Arizona. Last year he had ONE reception in 8 games. I've advocated a trade of these 2 seemly failed draft picks and see what happens. Isabella has great speed (4,3) and fair quickness (6,9 3cone). Maybe in a more disciplined offense he'd be more effective. Seemingly there is nothing to lose in that kind of trade. just sayin'
Or Both we have nothing to lose I would take the gamble.Just draft one of the guys Mac played with at Alabama.
Yeah I would rather take a chance one of those College boys coming off a ACL tear.I like the player and he would be a good fit in the offense but Woods would have to take a pay cut as part of the trade. and Bill is not going to take on that cap hit for a soon to be 30-year-old WR coming off an ACL tear. I could definitely see the patriots being interested if he is waived, however.
Not targeting him was a big free agency mistake in 2017. They knew him well, having faced him twice per year, but obviously did not recognize his potential. His initial contract with the Rams was for good money at the time but was not outrageous.
ken: Harry is so bad it's even more difficult to make excuses for him...the odds of Harry finally getting it is like winning the lottery almost impossible odds. But like they say anything can happen but I'm not holding my breath.interesting thought on Clark. But I'm wondering why everyone is selling Kendrick Bourne so short. Yeah they did bring Mac along slowly with the handcuffs on I am going to give Nelson Agholor the benefit of the doubt new system Rookie QB. He had a really good year with Derek Carr in LA the year before and we didn't take a lot of deep shots last season. That said this is what I would do in the Draft IF available coming off the ACL I would Draft Jameson Williams in the First Round. He'll have plenty of time to heal and we can activate him later in the year when he's ready. IF Agholor and J. Smith still don't get it it's easier to move on in 2023.I don't think we should discount Mac's responsibility in not targetting Agholor and others more downfield. I've seen several analysts show tape of these guys being open deep and Mac choosing the checkdown over the deep throw. Regardless of the why, I certainly expect Mac to improve on making these throws to keep the Ds honest from clogging the mof and forcing him to throw outside the #s.
Keep Agholor, Meyers, Bourne, Henry and Smith. Replace Harry in the draft (i.e. John Metchie). Gunner/Wilkerson are not the answer.
Few things here since you brought up credibility ....You lost all credibility rating the Patriots receivers above average last year.
I am sure I can find negative past comments on most ranking sites & writers to question their rankings.
Look at clowns like Ron Borges, who laughed at us drafting Seymour over
David Terrell. That was back when Globe
readers actually valued his opinion
Few things here since you brought up credibility ....
1)you've been a member here for well over a decade and I can't remember one meaningful or really good post you've written. Maybe before my time but I've been reading this board for a while now and you're definitely not in the starting lineup in terms of the best posters to put it nicely. And I would have noticed but don't see you in that small group.
2)don't bring up credibility and use PFF as a source. No one takes them seriously save for Diante, who just left. Seth and maybe a few others. Snaps by position and stuff like that are useful but no serious person brings them up in real life discussions. They're openly mocked for their OL, QB and other grades.
Honestly you realize you foolish these people sound
3)you keep saying we had the worst group of WR even after I proved you wrong and listed several teams. Take your L like an adult and move on. Pats WR/TE corp wasn't worse than Houston, New Orleans, Ravens, jete, Phila, Lions, Cleveland (after OBJ), GB (after Adams) and a few others were worse. Again you bring up credibility but stick your fingers in your ears when proven wrong. We could upgrade but we don't have the worst group of targets in the league.
I think you're forgetting I already answered. You're talking about me below ...You never answered the question

It’s not that difficult to answer.
Patsfans HOF somedayOne of the earlier Pom Pom waivers actually said they were above average.
Do you think he is a good poster?
I'm hardly a homer. Man you're out of touch. Not even trying to be mean but it's glaring in your post. I'm not shy about going after Bill at all lol. Or anyone. I'm just objective.Your just don’t want to admit that the Patriots have a poor set of starting receivers
Nobody will take away your Pom poms.
You don't need to post often. And I'm certainly not telling you what or how to post. I'm saying it's poor quality and you're wrong. Borderline dramatic saying the Pats have the worst WR/TE corp in the league. Again it has nothing to do with how often you post.As far as being a good poster, those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.
I may not post as often as you require, but I don’t have to post often to be a member.
I am a 60 year old widower who is raising 2 teenagers “age 15 & 14” alone. I have other priorities.

Meyers, Agholor, Bourne are all average to slightly above average on their best day WR's. Gunner is a below average WR. Byrd was a below average WR. Harry is a below average WR. You see the difference?? None of those 3 are below average. Add in Henry who is a top ten TE and it's an average to slightly above average group on their best day like I've said.

I just wouldn't be so quick to bring up credibility and tell everyone they're wrong. Especially when you've been given multiple examples that disprove your claim. Nobody here would trade targets with Houston. Or Cleveland rn. Or GB but again I gave you multiple examples.
Apologies on being a widower. I hope you had a blast together. I'm not religious but you're doing gods work raising 14/15 yo by yourself. Maybe you have some other family but in any case that's a tough age in this climate and time but you roll with it. And I'm sure you're cherishing them when you're not fed up, confused or exhausted.
Anyway take it easy old man I hope I reach that age and still have the passion to argue about sports online. I'd fight along side you against the Russians any day.
He sounds fast to meApparently the answer was Ty Montgomery...
Antonio Brown is left, he'd probably sign here on the cheap, LOL/JK. Good question though.I suppose the Patriots aren't targeting a FA WR. Like who's even left? And of that short list who would be willing to sign here??
Montgomery is primarily a ST guy to replace Bolden. I'm not even sure he'll make the team.Apparently the answer was Ty Montgomery...
You keep spewing this crap despite being shown you were wrong. We did have the worst receivers in 2020
& 2021.
The Pom Pom people just can’t grasp it.
One even said that our receivers were above average.
Where are you?
We’re our receivers last year……. ?

Did you forget Renfrow?
103 Receptions, 1,038 yards & 9 touchdowns
Which Patriots receiver was better than Renfrow in 2021?
They also had Ruggs last year early, but
They will have Davante Adams with him in
2022.
You & your Pom poms would rather have Meyers?
