You're not paying attention. Onwenu was actually good at LG. Both as a rookie and as a 2nd year player. They moved him to RT because none of Herron, Cajuste, or Durant could play there worth a damn.

Yes.. We're gonna put Collins at LT. A position he's NEVER PLAYED AT in the NFL.. He played LG and RT. Then you whine about it being a gamble on moving Wynn inside?

You really need to do some semblance of research on the topic you're posting about so you don't look completely foolish.
Wow, didn't realize I was getting paid for this full time job of venting MY opinions and options on a FAN SITE!
You do realize what we say here doesn't actually matter right?? R - E - L - A - X

I was confused all year why Onwenu was on the bench as Karras and even some others saw playing time over him.

Then I rewatched some film last month and I was fairly shocked how much of a tough time Onwenu had been having at LG. I'm talking about getting physically blown back a lot. He regressed.

Allen Robinson is actually a very good receiver. He's had a bad situation in Chicago for a very long time.

He's a good route runner, excellent hands, and I always see him fighting for the ball.

He's a bit unique since he has good speed, but isn't lightning fast, he's got good size but he isn't a brute that goes over the middle, he doesn't get huge separation but he outfights DBs for the ball.

In other words, he is what the Patriots thought NKeal Harry would be.

Onwenu did have Covid early in the season (Oct.) so there is a possibility that he wasn't back at 100% after that. Covid has affected a few players shortly after they came back. Look at the Celtics' Jason Tatum. He had to use an inhaler before games after his bout with Covid.

I hear a lot that some guys have a harder time switching from one side of the line to the other, than they do switching from T to G (or vice versa). Something about having to switch dominant hands, first steps, etc that is just harder for them to transition. I wonder if moving him from RT to RG would have worked better, but obviously they weren't moving Shaq last year. Doesn't guarantee anything, but I'd be optimistic he finds his stride again at RG if that's where he's needed.

Bringing in Collins at LT would be a big move - both in FA money and the OL. Assuming Wynn can suddenly move in to LG is still a gamble, not only for the position change but relying on his consistency regarding injuries. But, it'd be a big step up too.
I think 1 more top-level OL talent will suffice. whether Collins or Brown - we could probably make Onwenu and one of the newer guys like Sherman, Desjarlias work at the other G spot. So either:
Collins - Wynn - Andrews - Onwenu/Sherman - Herron/Onwenu OR
Wynn/Herron - Sherman/Wynn - Andrews - Onwenu - Brown

And this is before any potential draftee.
Not certain why everyone thinks Wynn would be such an effective guard. I don't remember him being that effective the few times I saw him there. I also don't think he's such a weak link at tackle. He's not Trent Brown but he is effective.

Wasn't it just the 2020 Broncos game? I don't think that's the game to use to evaluate his play at guard, given that he likely had zero real practice reps there before the game. They lost Ferentz on Friday and Mason on Saturday, and then Wynn had to start at guard on Sunday.

How? I thought the Saints were screwed cap wise
Turned 2022 base salary to signing bonus for a lot of guys. Basically kicking the can down the road. Will limit their ability to sign big name guys in future years but gives them the flexibility now.

Former Steeler 1st round pick who never turned out as they hoped.

Jags continuing their spending spree.

I still can’t believe the Falcons are a viable option with Matt Ryan still there. But I read yesterday that the Falcons have yet to make Ryan’s restructured contract official, so that does help a bit.

BB should Trade for this guy he would be perfect with H Henry. That Baker Mayfield is a WR and TE killer he knows how to ruin them.

Russell Gage…

Everyone who likes him keeps talking about what he did to end the year. Well he was getting touches because there was a lack of receiving options on that team.

Also Compare the last four games of Russell Gage in 2021 to the last four games Nelson Agholor in 2020. Guess who had better numbers? I’ll give you a hint, it’s the guy people on this forum want to package with a draft pick to dump. [note also that Agholor had a better track record and had a better overall year in 2020 than Gage did in 2021 …]
Russell Gage is going to be Tampa Bay's 3rd receiver, lining up mostly in the slot with Evans and Godwin on the outside, so he will have plenty of opportunities against lesser DBs. Plus, and this is the most important point, he now has Tom Brady throwing him the ball. Gage is going to be a great fit in Tampa Bay's offense. So would Agholor, and Bourne... any receiver playing along side two #1 receivers and a HOF quarterback is going to have a great opportunity for success.
