Amari Cooper?

That’s not true. Targets aren’t magical and arbitrary, you get open, you get targets.

Amari was complaining about the cowboys not using him enough

If Cooper has similar offers from both the Patriots and Miami, that will tell you what type of player he is. If he goes to New England, he will know he is the #1 WR and primary target with a stable organization and what looks to be stability at QB but he also knows he is playing for a no nonsense coach. If he goes to Miami, he is at best the #2 WR and will have to fight for targets in an organization without any stability where the owner might be forced to sell the team and a new head coach who is an unknown, might not survive a regime change even if he is good, and uncertainty at QB. In that scenario, you have to wonder if he could even handle it here if he chooses Miami. If the offers are equal, I think a WR who has the confidence in himself to be The Guy would chose the organization where he would be The Guy and there was more stability.

The thing is I don't know what type of guy Cooper is. His inconsistency issues might tell you that he might opt to go to Miami and not have to deal with rigidness and demands of the Patriots organization.

He was frustrated with lack of targets in Dallas so if Bill promises him he’ll be the number 1 guy here it might convince him.

Actually, the Agholor deal doesn't look so bad compared to Williams. Williams is getting per year what Agholor got for his entire contract give or take a million or two. In other words, Williams is making almost twice as much per year than Agholor.
Yeah because he's a superior player and the Chargers know how to Draft good WR's.

I get that, but he is being paid twice as much as Agholor. It isn't like Agholor is being paid 75-80% of what Williams is getting.

Every WR complains about not getting not the ball enough. If they get open more they get the ball more. There is no conspiracy against Amani Cooper to not throw to him when he’s open.
The reality is that he is good against certain opponents and coverages and toasts them, but isn’t good against others resulting in 4 big games a year and the rest looking like a jag.
It’s better than a jag but it’s still a jag 3/4 of the time.

You realize you are defending Cooper by posting an article where he admits he is whining about being frustrated about how many targets he gets when the team is winning right?

So we have to promise him we will throw him the ball even though he isn’t open in order to pay him 20 mill a year? Great. Can’t wait.

Prove to me that Cooper can't get separation...

I don't quite agree with the statement that if you aren't getting passed to you aren't getting open. There are only so many offensive snaps every game. A large percentage of those snaps are running plays. Then you have running backs and tight ends who have plays called for them. Then you usually have 2 or three wide receivers on the field. Then it comes down to who the qb is comfortable with, and who he is capable of throwing to. Sometimes, of course, it is they are covered, but certainly a large part of it is the game plan.

Makes me really appreciate how lucky we got with the Brandin cooks trade. Wish we could have kept him..

If he were here , then no Harry nor agholor .

I still believe Bill unrightfully blamed him for the SB loss.
If Cooks didn’t get hunted on that play where he put in that extra effort and get KoD. We would of win that game.

I said to my buddies during that game Bill is trading Cooks now that’s the end of his Patriots Tenure.

He is performing everywhere . Bonafide number 1 receiver . Might not be the best , but if you can get him for 14-16 nothing like it. Spares us from drafting wide receivers in first round and busts in free agency.

I watched almost every Cowboy game with interest (had Lamb on my FF team). Prescott is the check down king. Lamb and Cooper were used a lot as decoys to open the underneath for RBs, Schultz, Turner, Wilson etc al. Cooper had a legitimate complaint

Don't sorry this WR Draft class should exorcise those ghosts.

Meh, their career stats aren't that far apart - certainly noting worth of $9m more/year.

This is either a "grass is greener" attitude, or an inability to just look at the data.

I am sure you wouldn't have a problem if the roles were reverse and Harry was say Mike Williams. Teams in both conferences sign guys to contracts that can be questioned by fans case and point the Patriots signing of both Agholor and Jonnu Smith. I'm not going to beat a dead horse though.

Look at his numbers in 75% of his games.
I don’t care about catch phrases, or “can”, I care about what a player produces.

Mike Williams just got $20m/year. Look at his stats, catch rate, yards, etc...

That's an overpay. This isn't about who I want - I'd take him over Agholor, sure, but not at $9m/year more. Sheesh

So for his entire career every team and every qb only wanted to throw to him when he was open 4 times a year and decided to not throw to him when he was open the other games?
How can you tell who is open watching a game on tv because you have a different player on your fantasy team? Don’t you watch your other fantasy players?
“Captain check down” threw 388 passes to WRs. Mac Jones threw 303. Mahomes 347.
Seems you didn’t see what you think you did.
