Amari Cooper?

we won 6 SB but I get that Harry sux. I get it PF2. I think the law of average has been on our side though.
Bacon on the real though I love the Patriots and your Draft analysis keep up'the hard informative work.

He's not that good and worth nowhere near the salary he'd get.

In the bright side he'd be a genius signing compared to jonnu smith.

What? 20M WR? GET REAL, even if he said 15...my word, I'm SHOCKED that folks are THIS DUMB.
WAKE UP....
GEEZ, WTF have you been, and are you paying attention to the SC?

He was on my fantasy team last year. No thank you.

Hmmmmmm we have some money he's a NEED Rookie WR's aren't a guarantee to work out here...what's not to like? Proven player who would be a safe acquisition for this Team. Who would you prefer JC Jackson or Amari Cooper?? Cooper is no brainer to me he's still in his prime.
You would rather have cooper than Jackson? Seriously? Wow.

When it comes to cooper…..just say no!

We can get a cheap WR or two n the draft....
patriots drafted WR's will be cheap and worth every bit asset used to get them, not much.

I'd love having Cooper.

But, it is rarely right to sign a player leaving a playoff team who won't offer enough money.

Cutting Cooper would be a bad move for Dallas because Prescott has been much more prolific with Cooper in the lineup. They should look elsewhere to save money unless they want to compromise the strength of their team. Elliott looks like another NFL running back who will be totally cooked before age 30.

Filthy. Yes, please (depending on the $$).

I've seen some push back on this but Idk why. It's not 1996 anyway. 15-20 for a top tier WR isn't expensive. He's not "the best" but he'd immediately be our #1 and change the way defenses play us without a doubt. He's always been a great runner and player when healthy. He would be a huge addition.

I would spend the money and take him in a second, but for a different reason than most.

I have no visions of the Pats becoming a true contender in the next few years. They just won't be. Buffalo is way ahead of the Pats in development, and the Bills and Chiefs will likely be battling for the AFC for a while, with a lot of other pretty good teams in the mix. To think we can plug a few holes and suddenly be there just doesn't seem realistic to me.

What I want to know is if Mac is the real deal. Without hijacking this thread, I think we can all agree we like much of what we saw, but we still don't really know if he's the guy. I want to give him real weapons. I want to give him guys that help him get the ball out faster, making it easier on the line. I want a precise route runner who can help make Mac even more accurate. Most of all, I want to give him all of this and see what he does with it. The only way to answer the question quickly if he will get better with better weapons is to GET BETTER WEAPONS.

Getting QB locked in is going to be the fastest way to get back to where we want to be. If Mac turns out to be a Brady type (he seems to be: accurate passer, team guy, handles pressure on and off the field well), then we can stop plugging in holes all around him and start building an offense for the long haul. If he isn't the guy, I don't want to waste 5 years giving him nothing but #3 receivers and built-in excuses for why he isn't thriving.

The game is changing. Offense rules again. Even the Rams, with their amazing defense the past few years didn't win a chip until Stafford came to town to lock everything down. The Bucs, Chiefs, Bills, Bengals, etc, etc, etc. Great QBs changed the face of all these teams.

We can talk about rebuilding the defense, and I'm not discounting that. But right now, I just don't believe that's the path.

FWIW Louis Riddick thinks the Patriots are going to get Cooper and that it would be a perfect fit

With the way wide receivers are performing at combine and the rules favoring offense , it's a matter of time before wide receivers become expendable. Just draft wide receivers in pairs every year and you will get your wr 1 and wr 2 in rookie contract every year .

Wide receiver is the new running back . Use money saved on truly elite talent if they become available. We will have the chance to compete and maybe win a ring once every 10-15 years . The run we had with Brady is over. It's gonna be a more competitive NFL henceforth.

Give a young QB a shinny new toy I'm all for that. It will be interesting to see where Amari's head's at. Come to a Team with a young QB where you'll be the #1 Option... what's not to like? Even if it's just for a year we can Draft a couple of Rookies and groom them for 2023.

I like the way you're thinking. You might be onto something here.

I'm looking at the Pats track record drafting receivers and am real at the idea they can do this successfully.

I hear you.. all over the league they seem to have figured it out. Good speed, decent hands and decent route running . So it's not rocket-science . I believe we should also be able to do it. I just feel we got a bit too cute with draft picks and other FA picks last few years. Agholor was probably an anomaly where bill thought he would outsmart everyone with the pick and it turned out to be another Jordan Richards type of drafting.

If you notice the majority of draft picks that the board suggested have come across good in other teams . I feel bill and the front office was playing some strange moneyball in prior years draft and have course corrected last draft. Hopefully it continues this year . Looking at the 40 times, there seems to be huge talent till 15 . So worst case we can get a agholor replacement at 800k.

This year is a wash and hopefully Mac's 3rd and 4th year are going to be great for us . Just get the talent who can explode in 2023. And I hope bill goes by performance on field as opposed to interviews and word of mouth from college buddies especially the Arizona and Michigan guys. Saban is the only one we can trust now .
