Florio: League destroyed their PSI measurements

Troy Vincent was formerly the NFLPA President. He took a job with the league because he was unceremoniously dumped by the players. He's been working against them ever since.
There are those who believe he was working against the players even when he still was NFLPA president.

I didn't like the excerpt about there still being something nefarious that happened between Jastremski and McNally... I don't care about their texts about one being a deflator and getting new shoes.... BIG deal!!!

On a side note: I have a theory that Jastremski actually randomly tested 3-4 balls with a pressure gauge while in that bathroom for 98 seconds...just to be sure they weren't dramatically over inflated...which could have attributed to about an extra .01-.02 drop in pressure.

That being said...I'll say it again and again:

Deflategate was bar none the single biggest steaming pile of bull$hit in the history of professional sports.....F everyone who supported that hatchet job.
If you're charged and convicted for the murder of someone whose body was never found, based entirely on circumstantial evidence, and then the victim shows up alive (= no crime), then the circumstantial evidence was all wrong.

Yet in Deflate-gate, the ball pressures were proven to be normal (= no crime), yet people still hang onto the texts and the cell phone destruction.

We all know that Kraft lacks the ball to stand up to ginger satan and nothing will ever be done about it.

Move along, nothing to see here.

It was never about finding the truth. We saw that conclusively proven in the appeals process. For the league, it was always about screwing over Brady, and through him, the Patriots. For most of the media, it was always about nuzzling up to Goodell's balls. And, for the appellate court, it was about stubbornly preserving a mediation/arbitration system that needs to be either significantly overhauled or completely scrapped.

If my memory serves me, the NFL filed proactively in the court of their choosing because they knew they had the two judges in their pocket to uphold King Goodell’s right to be judge, jury and executioner on NFL personal conduct issues.

Deflategate opened my eyes to the depth and width of corruption in the media and judicial system. It’s heartbreaking to me to see what my country has become. Perhaps, it was always that way, and I was just naive to it.

I’d like to think class action lawsuits could clean up the NFL and restore integrity and competitive credibility, but it’s too far gone. I should walk away as a fan. I did it with the NBA. However, pro football is one of the great loves of my life. Sad as that is to say.

We actually were 2-2 between 4 judges....it is just that the 2nd hearing went 2-1 against us after Berman acquitted Brady....

Even one of the judges (Chin, IIRC) had the gall to say that the evidence was "compelling"....

They filed the "Motion to Confirm" in what they considered was a favorable setting, but they can't/didn't exactly control which judges were assigned.

As much as people like to see the law as black and white, there is so much gray and so many rulings - including deflategate - could easily have gone a different way with a different luck of the draw.

What a scum bag Vincent is and in a position of power, it's a shame. Can we get those two draft picks back now? I hope someday someone with inside knowledge writes a book exposing these scum bags for what they are, and EFF Goodell, biggest scum bag of them all.
I hope that person is none other than the GOAT coach, Bill Belichick! This has been my opinion since Spygate.

farkin' Denny Chin....this insulated SOB didn't even KNOW what the NFL was, nevermind what a football actually looked like. That is why the NFL had the case heard in the southern district Federal court...a stone's throw from 345 Park Ave. and all those high priced clip joints catering to politicians, judges and other movers and shakers in NYC.

What I found the best answer to all of this was the super bowl win against the Falcons in 51. Brady playing a 12 game season and receiving the Lombardi from Goodell was amazing.
Nah. Not when you consider the damage done going forward. Losing those draft picks caused real damage.

at this time it's time to revisit the NFL's anti-trust status.......between this shady business, tanking for draft picks, the Flores lawsuit, it's clear maybe the NFL needs its books opened and examined

I think the lack of minority owners should call their antitrust status into review. It’s a monopoly old boys billionaires club that only allows those they want into the club, which again is a monopolized golden goose for the members of it and their families.

It's an appeal - you generally don't get to introduce new evidence.
The NFL got to falsely claim that Brady never talked about the ball deflation issue in his conversations with the ball boys.

This press conference remains one for the ages:

Belichick even tested his own QBs to see if they could tell a difference between footballs that were different psi:

"We had our quarterbacks look at a number of footballs and they were unable to differentiate a one pound per square inch difference in those footballs. They were unable to do it. On a two pound differential, there was some degree of differentiation, but certainly not a consistent one. A couple of ones they could pick out, but they were also wrong in some of the other ones that they had. So you're welcome to do that yourself and I can tell you from all of the footballs I've handled over the last week, I can't tell the difference if there's a one pound difference or half a pound difference in any of the footballs."

"Again, anyone who has seen us practice knows that we make it harder, not easier, to handle the ball and our players train in conditions that a lot of people would recommend that we not drive in. That's what they do. They're a physically and mentally tough team that works hard, that trains hard, that prepares and have met every challenge that I've put in front them. And I know that, because I work them every day."

And then this little F-U to everyone listening about these accusations:

"This team was the best team in the AFC in the regular season. We won two games in the playoffs against two good football teams. The best team in the postseason, and that's what this team is and I know that because I've been with them every day and I'm proud of this team."

I still get chills thinking back to this one ... especially when that reporter got cute and tried to go after him about Spygate and he absolutely destroyed him. That was definitely an unbelievable press conference and Belichick didn't hold back at all that day. It was amazing

Old enough to know there’s much gray in the world. I just never thought penalizing someone without evidence of an infraction would spill into the gray,

Some BS artist, like Cris Carter or Shannon Sharpe, claimed they could instantly tell if a football was 1 PSI off. That’s the stuff that got people’s attention, not Belichick’s comments.

Gotta admit it was disappointing to hear from Wickersham that BB and Goodell are buddies….
