Florio: League destroyed their PSI measurements

Troy Vincent was also the source for the false 11 of 12 tweet from Mort.

And Kraft let this happen to his team and his QB.
Not sure where you get that "Kraft let this happen" but it was clear that the other OWNERS were the driving force. I would have liked Kraft to stand up more against the NFL, but WE have no idea how that would have impacted his standing with the owners. For all we know, he was threatened to keep his mouth shut or lose ownership. Which, they can do. They don't need a read to force Kraft to sell the team. They can say that his actions are a detriment to the NFL league brand and that's it.

The BIGGER allegation is that Troy Vincent was the one who was doing the SkyCam reviews that over-turned the two calls in FAVOR of the Eagles. Can you say "Conflict of Interest"?? Can you say "GAME FIXING"? That is BIGGER than the Black Sox scandal...

The NFL sucks. Deflate gate wasn't about air pressure, it was about taking down the biggest star in the league because they could, based on the collective bargaining agreement. The hearing Brady had was a kangaroo court. It's lawyers arguing about lawyer chit. Everyone knows why your TPMS light in your car comes on when it gets cold. The players union agreed to the CBA and gave the league the power to do whatever the hell they wanted. The fact that Kraft capitulated is irrelevant. The CBA says they can eff with players for whatever they hell they want, and that Goodell has supreme power. We can sit here and whine that they threw out the findings, it doesn't mean chit. We all know what the findings said. The only way it's going to change is if they do what @yukon cornelius says and investigate the anti-trust BS. The only way this is going to change is if some lawyer doesn't stop until it's done. The problem is that everyone takes the settlement money to stop, and in that settlement money is the gag order to shut up.

The league sucks. Love football, hate The League.

OH. FFS. That clause has been in the CBA since day f**king one. Claiming that they just arbitrarily put it in there during the last negotiations is complete BS and an attempt to re-write history. The fact of the matter is that the previous commissioners weren't corrupt enough to abuse it.

A RICO charge for GAME FIXING is the SUREST way to change things. Because they have it on record that Troy Vincent was the one who was doing the Video Reviews during the last Pats/EAGLES SB and that he over-turned 2 calls using Rules that hadn't been officially implemented. Neither team was NOTIFIED that the new rules were being used for the game. The fact that Vincent LIED about the footballs to push the Deflategate narrative is proof enough that he was biased and made the calls to benefit his former team to the detriment of the Patriots.

Tracking measurements of the psi of footballs is irrelevant. The change of pressure in relation to temperature is 100% perfectly predictable. It is such basic science. We did not need the NFL’s research, we just needed the media to be honest and address Mr. Goodell with the tiniest bit of honesty, which never happened. Smart people acted stupid out of fear because the NFL is so powerful. It was pathetic.
It IS relevant because it goes to the NFLs penchant for lying to the detriment of the Patriots. While we KNOW what would happen, that data would have exonerated the Patriots. Destroying that sort of evidence and claiming that they "didn't actually record the PSI of the game balls at different stadiums" when they said they were doing so only reinforces that narrative.

They're crooks! I hope the NFLPA hires Troy Vincent someday and he spills the beans about how corrupt the NFL office is.

Troy Vincent was formerly the NFLPA President. He took a job with the league because he was unceremoniously dumped by the players. He's been working against them ever since. Expecting him to spill the beans on anything regarding the Commissioner's office is like pissing into the wind.

which, as I've screamed to the universe since 2006, is the reason Goodell destroyed the "spygate" tapes Belicheck gave him. If those tapes had been made public it would have been obvious to all that the whole debacle was a sham. Which it was, planned by Goodell.

Given that there was still pending litigation (Brady's appeal), isn't this destruction of evidence?

Now that Brady has retired I need to rethink my fandom. As long as Goodell is the Chief Stooge, the league will continue its march to idiocracy.
The Data was collected during the season Brady was suspended. He'd already dropped his appeal by then..

How come there is no Rooney Rule for Commissioners??. It seems as though they rule for life and @ $40 Million per it is a very sweet gig.. will be fun to watch next go round.

No - only applies to public companies.

If there is active litigation, then despoliation of evidence may become an issue. But I don't think there was any active litigation at the time.

My own take (from having read pretty much everything on the topic, including new Seth Wickersham book), is that the Patriots, including Brady and Kraft, weren't certain what Jastremski may or may not have done in the bathroom. We know that Brady liked the balls on the low side, and so it is quite plausible Jastremski routinely let out a bit of pressure before games. They still might well have been within regulation pressure before the ideal gas law did its thing though.

I've been surprised there hasn't been more leaking from the NFL offices - usually once people leave they are happy to screw their old bosses.

Brady's case was still pending appeal. They appealed the suspension being overturned at before the 2015 season.

NFL officially appeals Tom Brady decision

NFL officially appeals Tom Brady decision

Published: Sep 03, 2015 at 05:27 AM

The NFL appealed U.S. District Judge Richard Berman's ruling nullifying Tom Brady's four-game suspension.

Commissioner Roger Goodell, in a statement released Thursday prior to the league's court filing, cited competitive fairness as a key component in the decision to appeal.

Florio says they destroyed the data collected during that season. I guess the question is: when did they destroy it?

Shame on Brady's team for not asking for those records during the appeal hearing in April 2016.

He was suspended in the 2016 season. The data was from 2015.

NFL version of Putin.

I will no longer follow the NFL if Pash or Vincent end up being commissioner...

My understanding that it was Pash who ordered them destroyed. They did it at Gillette Stadium.

The motivation for Deflate-gate was other teams' jealousy of Belichick and his team, not of Brady. Brady was just collateral damage. Teams were still consumed over Spygate from 8 years prior, and over the Pats' continued superiority even while not winning SB's, and were looking for that last nail in the coffin to expel BB from the league.

The irony is that we were significantly over-punished for Spygate. There had never been a punishment for any type of misdeed of more than a 3rd rounder. This transgression deserved about a 5th rounder, and we got hit for a 1st rounder. Then another extreme over-punishment for Deflate-gate, supposedly to make up for "getting off easy" in Spygate.

That is true. I never thought of that. We haven't heard anything about that part of it so I doubt anyone who matters cares unfortunately.

The calling of the Philly SB seemed really off and yet no one EVER says anything about it. Everything went philly's way. The 'burning' of the spygate tapes was also not about helping NE but don't try and explain that to anyone. Deflategate is such a debacle it should be used as a hiring question during interviews. If you answer incorrectly you get escorted out of the building for incompetence.

I didn't like the excerpt about there still being something nefarious that happened between Jastremski and McNally... I don't care about their texts about one being a deflator and getting new shoes.... BIG deal!!!

On a side note: I have a theory that Jastremski actually randomly tested 3-4 balls with a pressure gauge while in that bathroom for 98 seconds...just to be sure they weren't dramatically over inflated...which could have attributed to about an extra .01-.02 drop in pressure.

That being said...I'll say it again and again:

Deflategate was bar none the single biggest steaming pile of bull$hit in the history of professional sports.....F everyone who supported that hatchet job.

What a scum bag Vincent is and in a position of power, it's a shame. Can we get those two draft picks back now? I hope someday someone with inside knowledge writes a book exposing these scum bags for what they are, and EFF Goodell, biggest scum bag of them all.

technically shouldn’t we be all boycotting this league because of this sham. Why contribute to their profit especially Clowndells huge salary

And it’s not like Kraft fought for what is right

Technically no pats fan (or anyone with integrity) should be watching anyway
