Owner CAN hire anyone they want, the Rooney rule doesnt make owners hire anyone...

They should be able to conduct interviews anyway they see fit. If a team wants to exclude somebody on the basis of color and not ability. And operate the team like a bunch of Jack asses, Then the team won't be very good in the end. It's the owner's team. The Rooney rule is PC dog sh!t.

Sham is not the word I'd use. The Rooney rule is a strong arm tactic to try forcing teams to interview, and pressuring the teams to then hire, preferred groups of people, regardless of the particular preferences of those making the selection. It puts teams that have preferred candidates in the awkward position of having to pretend that they don't have those preferred candidates. That's a fault of the rule, not the team, but that's not how it gets presented.

Are you basically saying that there AREN'T qualified black candidates. Well I guess you must be thrilled that with 9 openings available, the owners have successfully been pressured to hire ZERO candidates of color thus far. By any record, an OUTSTANDING example of all the diversity talk this season. They should be proud, or rather "proud boys"

Doesn't look like anything damning but I am no legal expert. It looks like Bill accidentally let the cat out of the bag that the NYG already hired Daboll before even interviewing Flores. Effectively making a mockery of the Rooney rule and wasting Flores's time.
