Semi OT: Flores suing NFL and NYG. Texts from Bill involved in the suit.

??? What are you even talking about, have you lost your mind?

I can't believe someone here seriously believes Flores doesn't have the clearly established better credentials. This is insane.
How many SBs has Flores won as the head coach?

It's not the same. There are strict rules you have to follow. To offer the job prior to interviews is to break the rule.
Didn’t they already comply with the Rooney Rule without Flores interview?
They didn’t announce Daboll before the interview.
Flores had his opportunity. Nothing is wrong with having a favorite you think you are hiring unless someone else changes your mind in their interview.

ain't you heard... white man can't jump.

All it means for Bill is that he doesn't use MyFace and can't text. Not uncommon at all. I've sent texts totes wrong person before. It doesn't look like Bill did anything wrong.

Stephen Ross, OTOH, looks like he is being accused of intent to defraud, attempted bribery, etc. These are felonies.
Or…………. He’s playing the ROLE of an old fool who doesn’t know who he’s texting. When in fact, he knew exactly who was receiving the text…. Because he sees this is BS and Flores > Daboll. Wasn’t Flores congratulated a thousand times as he left, whereas there was a bit of a tiff with Daboll ?

So the Giants found their guy, hired him and that's somehow racist?
It’s the Rooney rule. The claim here is that the giants knew who they wanted, but docked Flores around to satisfy the requirements. At least that’s my guess?

Nope. I want people to stop claiming that differences in ability based on race are accepted only if they favor certain races. The same thing happens with gender, but having an honest discussion is off-limits in the current environment. Equity everywhere (except for the places we designate as "special").
If someone is saying black people are inherently better than white people in any context, that's also bad.

I'm going to ask though, what is your personal opinion on why there are fewer black head coaches in the NFL when the pool is largely former players, most of whom are black? There are really only two logical options here:
  1. There is discrimination or some other system which, intentionally or unintentionally, results in qualified black coaching candidates being passed over
  2. White coaches are inherently better at the job
You literally have to pick one, they're mutually exclusive.

Brady is incredibly happy now that everyone's attention is focused away from him lol...

A thread about racism, trannies, throwing games, Hispanic coaches....and you still go with the Brady angle.

Respect on the dedication to your cause.

Feel bad for Flores. Not sure what this does for his chances at a HC job but he ****ing deserves a HC job.

What he did in Miami was pretty impressive IMO. He won 7 or 8 straight with Tua as QB, beat us 2x and had a winning record the last 2 years. He shouldn't have even been fired so makes you think at least some of what he say's is probably true.

If everything he says is true, really makes you wonder about all the illegal **** that goes down with teams, you would have to be naive to think this is a isolated case.

Maybe there is corroborating evidence.
Doubtful because evidence of ordering a coach to tank would be so damning Flores could have just named his price instead of file a lawsuit (or extorted to keep the job)

So basically the Giants had their HC decided on but was planning to go through with a sham interview of a POC in order to comply with the Rooney Rule....

....which is exactly what those of us critical of the Rooney Rule have been saying all along would happen....

Something tells me BB is just an old guy who sucks at technology. I still like that he found himself in the role of accidental whistleblower, and I hope you're right even though I doubt it's the case.

Because in a 40 race it's clear who wins the race. There has never been any test for smarts or anything else that have provided evidence otherwise.

And I submit that the nepotistic spawn of coaches and execs that riddle the hierarchies of the NFL, while they can't even hire black coaches when 68% of the league is black, shows how this whole system is perpetuated.

This actually tells me that Flores is an incredible coach considering how well his teams performed despite everyone above him apparently actively working against him.

This is funny and incredibly sad at the same time. Shows how far the league really needs to come as far as minority coaches getting legitimate chances to coach. It really is an old boys club still.
Congrats, this was the closest thing I found to a @'mondre was right post in the first dozen or so pages of this thread!

It all depends on how BB knew it. I'm on hiring committees all the time. We know to conduct the entire process. Precisely for situations like this. if you invite a candidate, you can't give the job to someone else prior to the conclusion of the process. This is basic stuff. We don't even do evaluations or talk about our preferences until the appointed time. The most we do is say, "They were great, fantastic!" Sure you glean stuff from that, but you don't give the job
