OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Think if it as his NFL corpse finally doing that.
I know you hate Manning but the Bronces with Manning went 13-3, 13-3, 12-4, and finally 12-4 to win the superbowl. The season after Manning retired the Broncos failed to make the playoffs.

Manning is an all-time great QB. Even a shell of his former self was better than most QBs. Acknowledging where Peyton was great doesn't diminish Brady, if anything it enhances Brady's greatness because he had to face Manning throughout his career

Manning is an all time great no doubt. In 2015 however he played in only 11 games and off the top of my head threw 7 TDs and 13 INTs IIRC. He was trash.

I'm in Canada visiting family.

Btw, you don't have to send 100 if you don't prefer.

I think Zelle is a money transfer system.
Loser sends the $100, when they lose, not now.

I have a better idea.

I'll post an avatar of Tom Brady for 6 months if I lose.

If I win, you post an avatar of Mahomes for one month.
Lol, you brought up the $100, now you're backing out.

Whatever, sure fine.

Yet that team still went 12-4 and won the superbowl then failed to make the playoffs. The run game was great for them and Peyton was a factor in that.

This is where I give Peyton far more credit than Rodgers. Peyton was amazing at pre snap reads and changing plays at the line of scrimmage to take advantage of the defense front.

So yes Peyton was definitely a shell, but I give him credit for directing the offense

Peyton has been to 4 SBs and has signature playoff wins. You can't credit Brady with QB wins and then say his last SB had nothing to do with him. He put up points on BB's defense in that last corpse AFC Championship game. Yes injuries and yes Brady was under siege but he still found a way to get his corpse to win. You can't have it both ways.

Manning had to go through NE each year too and won 3 times against them in the playoffs. Rodgers has done absolutely nothing his whole career to elevate his team in the playoffs. They are both regular season players in comparison to Brady but I personally can't compare Rodgers to Manning at this point. It's not close.

Even though Brady lost, this game is still one of his more impressive performances. Any other QB wouldn't have been a 2 point conversion away from tying.

Btw, this game would've been in Foxboro had it not been for BB's awful December coaching. He was BAD that year.

Yes but the officiating in the Denver game earlier in the year was what allowed it to even be a consideration. That started it.

There's no comparison.

Manning is definitely ahead of Rodgers.

It's just I feel Manning deserved more than 2 SB titles. Man if the Colts don't botch that onside kick in the SB, Manning has st least 3 rings.

Thing is, that game is a footnote if not for the awful coaching against Philly, Jets, and Miami.

Belichick thought the team could win any way and anywhere.

He was wrong.

The Patriots absolutely win that game if it's in Foxboro. They steamroll Carolina.

Jmo.

I still do not believe that the 2015 Patriots as injured as they were beat the Panthers in the Super Bowl. I’m on an island but don’t forget how prime Cam absolutely owned Belichick defenses and the Pats offense had a broke offensive line, literally no running game, a broken foot Edelman, and allegedly Brandon Lafell somewhere.

I can't give Peyton credit for his 2nd ring. He was washed up trash. Many average QBs could have filled his role that season.

I am not being a prisoner to the moment like many are after the Packers loss yesterday. I will take Rodgers over Manning. Rodgers has had some playoff disappointments and both of them are miles behind Tom obviously (who isn't??), but his overall play in the playoffs is better than Peyton's playoff play and his RS play is in the same ball park also.

Peyton has 40 TDs and 25 INTS with a 87 QB rating in the playoffs. Rodgers has 45 TDs and 13 INTs with a 100 QB rating. Prime Peyton manning had 3 TDs and 7 INTs in his 2006 SB run. That's sad. It's shocking the lack of great playoff runs Peyton has. Peyton has always been a choker. Even in college he went 0-4 against his biggest rival the Gators.

Peyton was bad in all 4 of his SBs (mediocre vs the Saints, bad in all 3 other SBs). People forget how big of a choker Peyton was. He had a few decent moments in the playoffs like the NE AFC title game and that's it. Rodgers one SB performance destroys all of Peyton's 4 SB performances combined. His 2010 and 2016 playoff runs destroy anything Peyton does. Even Rodger's one and dones are much better than Peyton's one and dones.

Rodgers also has had a lot less talent throughout his career than Peyton, who had an offensive all star cast for the first part of his career and then a solid to great defense the 2nd part of his career.

Stats mean nothing without context.

Rodgers has a lot of post season TDs in blowout loses that he threw against a Def no longer trying to defend.

He had the ball with 4mins last night with a chance to win, he choked.

He was in the goalline the year before and choked.

The year before against the 49ers he threw all his TDs in the 4th qtr when they were down by 40pts.

Rodgers doesn't have any defining post season moment. At least Peyton does in the 06 championship game

Wirfs out.
I said all season the only thing that could possibly get in the way of a Brady/Bucs repeat was injuries and well here we are.

Doesn’t matter. Brady will lift this team up. Let’s go

Tyler Johnson needs to step up BIG. Can he do it?

Wouldn’t mind seeing miller in more.

They had a week to prepare. They should be good

Grayson being out isn’t ideal but still expect a big day in the passing game.
