OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Ya you have the better QB and the game is at home. I give you the edge. But guys like Allen have to start somewhere and they are very capable of going in there and winning. You put too much stock into the last matchups for both teams. LA matches up well but I wouldn't give them the win just yet and I sure wouldn't give them the win vs SF.
There's no doubt Buffalo is capable of going in and winning. They are the only team I've feared all year. I just think the game will come down to which QB makes the least amount of mistakes. If this were October, yeah, I'd say Buffalo has the advantage in that area. But Mahomes has improved since the rocky 3-4 start. And even though it's been a somewhat rocky season for him, he's handled adversity well. I'll say 45-33 KC.

Of the road teams, I think LA has the better chance today. TB fans aren't exactly the loudest. It's warm down there. Same weather Rams play in. LA doubles Evans and forces someone else to beat them. Meanwhile, LA has three receivers great at creating separation. And said receivers can fly. Coaching? You take McVay 8 days a week. Here's the major question: Can TB's front get to Stafford? If so, I think TB wins. Tough to predict a score here.

Now...looking ahead.

I've predicted Cin-KC & SF-Rams.

Cin-KC: Burrow is great. But the journey ends in Arrowhead. Oline isn't up to sniff and the opposing QB won't be handing you gifts. 45-17 KC

SF-Rams: I take McVay in a big game 8 days a week over Shanahan. Donald vs that SF OL= mismatch. 28-10 Rams.

LA-KC: OK so my team won't be scoring at will. Rams D is too good. Coaching? Wash. So who do you trust more. Stafford or Mahomes? I'll take Mahomes. 28-24 Chiefs.

So I'm predicting a Chiefs SB win. Becoming the fourth team in NFL history to win a SB after losing the previous year. The other three? 1971 Cowboys, 1972 Fins, and of course the 2018 Patriots.

Brady recycling the “Still Here” theme from the 2018 Patriots. Makes perfect sense…all offseason pundits picked the Bucs to repeat. They went 13-4 - 13-2 against every team except their kryptonite team - and because they lost two key players, you couldn’t find a person outside of TB/TB12 fans picking the Bucs to even make the Super Bowl. Literally about 5% of the pundits and experts had them winning the NFC as of two weeks ago. Now the team has the respect card to play along with all their talent. The losses of Godwin and AB are very big, but there was never any reason to leave them for dead. I think losing those guys takes them from being the clear cut best team to merely as good as anyone else.

Every prediction you’ve made on this site has been best case scenario for the Chiefs. That’s cool if that’s what you’re rooting for, but you’re not convincing me that your predictions are anything other than working backwards from what you wish to see.

The league needs to pull out ALL the stops to help rig this game in favor of the Bucs because we all need the Brady/Jimmy matchup. It’s a moral imperative.

I've updated scores.

Essentially I think we beat Buffalo & LA in shootouts.

Tonight is their biggest test imo. If they win, I don't see how Cincy wins next week.

Oh really? You don’t see how? Lmfao…you just talked all about matchups but failed to mention the Chiefs lost HFA by losing to the Bengals. You saw the Bengals beat them, what, a month ago? And you don’t see how it could happen? Let me guess: the Bucs-Rams result from earlier this season proves everything, but the Bengals-Chiefs result proves nothing.

I would favor the Chiefs, but hard to believe the Bengals have no chance. Admit it: you’d take at Tennessee in a heartbeat over Cincinnati. Tennessee wasn’t going to win with Tannehill. The Bengals have at least a decent chance with Burrow.

I can tell you for a fact that basically NO ONE in the preseason, from the annual NFL preview magazines to the ESPN/SI experts online, picked the Bucs to repeat. Most chose Rodgers getting his revenge and of course the Chiefs moonwalking into the Super Bowl as well because they’re all predictable morons.

Rams D are worst than Tampa D in yds/g, pass yds/g and run yds/game. They miss both starting safeties. Why everyone is talking about the Rams D like they are the #1 defense in the league and Brady can’t score against them?

The bucs D is better and healthier than in week 3 and Stafford end of the season wasn’t so great.

Honestly I don't want Buffalo winning a SB. Unfortunately that will be close to fruition if they win tonight.

I hate their fans who get hammered and abuse opposing fans.

I hate that their QB is being proclaimed as the guy to overtake Mahomes.

And yes...I'm fully aware that a piece of scum is employed on my team. And no I'm not a fan of the human being.

One team has a once in a generation type player on defense up front. He's unstoppable.

What baffles me is just one year ago, like 95% of the country viewed Rodgers as “America’s QB.” He was a sympathetic character everyone liked, despite the numerous leaks from teammates and execs that he’s the biggest mega-douche in the league. And everyone was still making pretzel twisting excuses for him. It took an incident that wasn’t even related to being a total selfish ******* teammate who only cares about his individual accomplishments. Well, maybe indirectly it was, but I’m not opening that can of worms. Bottom line: people should have loathed him all this time for being a douche, and now they loathe him for politically charged reasons.

What does the other team have? Surely nothing generational there…
I was referring to the D comparisons only.

Donald is the best defensive player since maybe Reggie White.

Obviously Brady is generational.

If your best player is on defense you’re in trouble by default. Sorry.

Fraudgers continues to be the most overrated sportsman ever. More at 12.

The Bucs are a win away from hosting the NGCCG against the 49ers...imagine saying that a month ago. Incredible turn of events. The 49ers gave the Bucs home field in the divisional by beating the Rams, and now gave them home field throughout the NFC.

Kudos to the 49ers, three away wins against the Rams, Cowboys and Packers. Completely deserved appearance in the Tom Brady invitational.
9ers are looking like Bucs last year, winning on the road against good teams. Their D is playing playoff football. Deebo, Mitchell and Kittle are balling.

Manning is 100x Rodgers. At least he has the balls to throw it and change the play. I don't think Rodgers knows what's going on out there or ever does anything but switch to a run if it's obvious.
Rodgers is limited by his desire to only throw to wide open receivers to avoid picks. Dude has no balls.
