Flores fired

Swap out fat Matt for him immediately.

Matt Patricia is doing Ernie Adam’s job, he’s the Patriots Senior Football Advisor, Flores is going to coach, not do research and structure contracts.

The writers and fans who are complaining because the owner lives in NYC and isn't involved enough have it backwards. He's too involved. The more involved he is, the worse things will get.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with absentee ownership in the NFL, if the owner is mildly competent. That translates to understanding that you don't know anything about football and should hire good football people who will set the culture, and leave them alone.

I would hire Flores immediately at any price (within reason) and groom him to be BB's replacement when BB retires. He is an excellent HC; Miami must be incredibly stupid....They get seocnd prize for stupidity after San Francisco, who gets the stupid move of the decade after their draft screwups last year.

Dolphins interviewing Daboll. Looks like they want an offensive minded HC. But Daboll can't turn water into wine. The issue wasn't Flores.

That didn't take long...

Denver is interviewing like 40 coaches.
I think I saw Chicago has scheduled like 10.
I don’t like a team that’s direction is to talk to so many people.
They should have it down to 3 to 5 coaches.
By identifying what direction and what kind of team and atmosphere they are creating.
To me it shows me Denver hasn’t learned anything.

Why do people think Matty P. runs the D? He is our new Ernie..runs the scout team and makes free agency calls for us...

The D is run by Belichick-Belichick-Mayo basically.

They are acting like they know the inner discussions of the Patriots management and simply making sh.t up. Patricia has taken the Senior Football Advisor role that Adam’s held, and he works in the roles Adam’s worked in. Belichick, Steven Belichick, and Mayo are the people who get the credit and blame for this season’s defense. Their pass defense, turnover ratio, and pass rush have been really good all season, but their run defense, especially their interior run defense has been erratic and poor, especially at important moments in games. I think another dominant DL, and a big time replacement for Hightower are priorities this off-season. Fortunately for the Patriots middle linebackers have slid in most team’s draft priorities, so getting the top MLB prospect in the draft is far more likely than the top pass rushers or CB’s is.

That doesn't mean anything. LOLfins fans are accustomed to what chaos looks like. They know nothing else.

You have morons this board who want the NEP to lose vs BUF just so Josh gets a head start on the interview process and leaves.
Lest we forget the Fire Bill crowd.

This doesn't make any sense. Why would any team interview a HC with a losing record (.490) that never made the playoffs in his first 3 years? I was told he was a failure and this would never happen. I was duped.

I agree. The annual turnover at OC is strange
It screams of a guy that has a couple possible problems:
  • GM says fire the OC and get your chit together.
  • Owner helicopters in and demands blood, see above.
  • Flo doesn't have a big enough network of coaches to call on and keeps burning thru guys. IMO, unlikely. He had to like one of his hires.

DEN's ownership situation is very much in flux.
Horseface has taken a step back from the day to day stuff.
They are really adrift, IMO.

For Brian it'd mean a few years with a massive upgrade in salary and prestige.
Hope he's good at "collaboration", that seems to matter more than Xs and Os.

The problem here is that Miami has been flush with draft picks and had a real chance to turn something around, but places like Chicago? It's going to be much tougher to build a team there.

I like how people point to his record against Belichick but then forget the context to it

His 6 games vs Belichick

L 0-43 absolute ****ing blowout loss, miami fans were questioning why he was hired
W 27-24 Brady/Belichick era was over at that point. Brady had cashed out his chips and everyone in the locker room knew
L 11-21 He really did get beat by a Newton led Pats team
W 22-21 credit to him beat a team at home that came in with 10 days off and knew their season was over and had Terez Hall & Anfernee Jennings playing LB while his team was pushing for the playoffs
W 17-16 very lucky that ref called a ticky tack holding call that wiped a Harris TD off the board, took 4 point off the board
W 27-24 refs get an assist on this one. Bolden non-hit penalty and the PI on an uncatchable ball gave an extra 7 points

It's a mixed bag going forward.

MIA had Grier making the picks and he ain't going nowhere. Tua over Herbert.

Lord knows if they can/will make a Deshaun Watson trade happen, but if that happens it'll blow up the stash of draft picks.

MIA has SF's #22 but traded what would have been #15 to PHL.

CHI has no 1st in 2022, they traded it to NYG. Pace is gone with Nagy.

Tough Love probably ain't the way to go in the modern NFL, especially not in MIA.

Flo gotta read the room and realize throwing Tua under the bus is the same thing as throwing the GM under the bus.

Yea, this guy grew up in the Pats organization, going from getting coffee for the coaches to DC. He probably lost track of the times he got berated by Bill and other coaches. He's got thick skin and knows what it takes to create a winning culture, having learned from the best. His players seem to play hard for him, so it's not that.

But you're right, tough love isn't something the newer generations take well to. I had a Cuban boss when I was younger that threw chairs across the room. Needless to say, I grew a thick skin. Yet, I had a young woman crying in my office after I was done talking to her. It's hard when you're not uber sensitive like today's generations. But for freaks sakes, there's no crying in football.

How quick is that commute via helicopter? :haha:

That was one of the changes Kirby Smart got at Georgia, a helicopter for recruiting trips.
That, and a change to the Open Records laws in the state, making it the most restrictive in the country, and to make it legal to stall information requests about the football program.

Someone here brought up Houston as a good destination for Flores, and although I think Caserio really wants MacDaniels Flores could completely settle their Watson problem if it’s true that Flores was willing to give away the house for him, and that Watson really wanted to go play for him. On my the other hand if Watson just really wants out of Houston, regardless of the HC then Flores would be foolish to take the job.
