Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Colts beat the Pats

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

We lost that game on first down defensively all night. Too many third and shorts.

But I liked how the D stiffened up…we allowed 20 points with the last TD being a simple missed tackle with no safety help.

Losing Agholor hurt a lot as was not going to N’Keal Harry earlier, IMO.

Had to turn off that horrible Colts slobber fest, post game. Even tho, J Taylor seems like a cool dude

I don't hate the loss - but I hate the way they lost. A lot of mental mistakes and surprising miscues. Worse yet, Jones got his knee bent awkwardly on that leaping play where he made that throw back across his body and was limping a bit after, (and was later seen hopping on the sideline and you could tell it's bothering him) so that will be something to monitor. And now they're potentially facing a ticked-off Bills team possibly down two receivers. They haven't gotten punched in the mouth in a while and I would have been OK with that if they had showed a little more fight and not made some really dumb mistakes that dug them a hole that was just too big to get out of.

Only 5 completions by Wentz. Gross but at least thats more than 3 passes :D

Another NYFL ref job. Bolden not out of bounds and a free path to the endzone, countless helmet to helmet hits not called, straight call from NY on the Duggar ejection when Pittman was throwing punches and his helmet was loose. Indy had 1 non-offsetting penalty the whole game.
Jonathan Taylor 165 yards, the refs 30 yards on good spots for the Colts bad spots for Pats

What a disgrace. :(

Also, can someone explain to me the Harry hit? I wasn't able to watch much of the broadcast, and I don't have sound, but I don't understand how that wasn't DPI. Looked like the ball hadn't arrived yet. What did they say about it in game?
They didn't say a damn thing about it.. That's what is so infuriating. It was plain as f'in day that Sendejo was early and led with his helmet. Yet neither of the two idiots said a word other than "I hope they're ok".

I’m surprised the defense struggled so badly against a one dimensional offense.

Jonathan Taylor is the most overrated player in the NFL. Seems like a good guy and he’s a solid running back, but he does nothing special and the offensive line is 80% of the production.

You sure about Taylor? He must have just lived off the Wisconsin effect in college, too, riding those OL to the record books. C'mon, man. He's a great player. Exceptional speed, good power, nice vision. I do agree about the one dimensional offense, though. Wentz is not very good.

Unfortunate that a few key mistakes went against us, but let's hope this lights a fire under them for the rest of the season.

also, this performance coming off a bye week is shameful

I'm proud of this team, we fought hard the second half but missed opportunities were the difference. The train has been derailed for the moment.

Jonathan Taylor is a really good player....I would love to play them again in the playoffs...I think the result would be different!

Mac had a rough 1st half, but rebounded nicely....a win next week and the division is ours, so we'll need to bounce back. Our rushing defense needs to be better, Hightower missed a big tackle on that td run.

The blocked punt was a killer!!

Tough loss but this team I think can bounce back......

Let's discuss.
Agree this team can bounce back. Coming in cold for the second half, I missed the worst of it. But it's a loss. We saw a sloppy, heartfelt attempt to come back. Proud yes, they didn't give up (to the chagrin of some here, puzzlingly), but yeah, I would love next week to look more focused.
Weirdly, the mental mistakes sorta make me wonder if they needed a game like this to sharpen them mentally down the stretch. The fact that they came to life after the fight says...something about their mental state throughout the first 3 quarters of the game.
I like this concept... and now we get to see the character of THIS team when knocked off their first pedestal. We're not off everybody's radar anymore... what's next, right? My money is on the narrative you put out above... but we will see
Indy wanted the game more...disappointing effort coming off a bye
Not real crisp out there, that is for sure.

I dunno about "wanted it more."

Look on the bright side...

At the beginning of the season, we were just hoping we got a QB. We've got him! And he will get playoff experience in year one.

It's all good.

Colts get to put up another meaningless banner, and their fans are still inbreds with family trees that look like telephone poles.

To add to this, Indy's only penalty was the egregious offside, and the guy still hit Mac 2 seconds after the play was blown dead.

This was the worst game since the Saints. Turnovers, penalities, blocked punt, self inflicted loss

IMHO this loss is on the offense, special teams and coaching. Defense did their job except the last Colts td. I am sure they were gassed by then.

Health is a big issue now. Harry sucks but him, aghalor, and Harris being giant question marks on offense for next week isn’t good.

Harry sucked so bad that he had the grab that got them back into the game. He also would have had that ball if Sendejo hadn't hit him in the head early. Harry was also WIDE OPEN on the flea-flicker.

This game was as sloppy as they come. Players and coaching staff forgot that the bye week was over. Makes you wonder what they worked on. Soft AF. Mental mistakes all over the place, head scratching coaching decisions. Awful game. Yet, we almost staged a comeback. The passing game looks incredibly outta sync. ST’s was trash. Defense can’t stop the run when it actually matters. Coaches are too afraid to put **** on Macs shoulders. Wynn is trash. Front 7 continues to be underwhelming. Yet again, almost came back. This teams story isn’t over, and they have another chance to right the ship.. Bills and Fins won’t be an easy go, and I question whether the Jags will be either. A lot of missed opportunities this game. Time to eat the humble pie, learn from it and come back stronger. Let’s goooo.

I don't even wanna hear don't wine about the refs in this one. Yes the bad punt was a game changer but 3 Helmet to helmet hits not called was worse. That said Taylor should be MVP this year. He is an absolute game changer. The only time I can think of when a team has to absolutely design there game around an individual player was prime Gronk. I remember pulling for Indy when they played the Bills and thinking,,, Wow how are we going to stop Indy in the future with this guy,,, . I think we can, but it wont be easy, and we can't do it if the refs are on there side.
