MNF pregame thread: Pats @ Buffalo

We should know soon about Dugger’s status. I believe that he has to test negative today and tomorrow, in order to be eligible to play on Monday night. So if he tests positive again today he likely will be ruled out today.

JJ Watt was put on the Covid list on Monday for a positive test. and was cleared today, so there is a small chance. The Watt news is also good for the Patriots because we should be rooting for the Steelers this weekend.

Shaun Wade? He is a natural slot corner. Can he take place of Dugger? Wade is few inches shorter but, Wade was very good slot corner @ Ohio State.

Given how much I suspect we'd play nickel/dime, Wade should get some chances here, as well as Williams depending on matchups. I don't know how much we should expect from Wade though. He's only been able to break through for snaps in garbage time, got a late start into the Patriots scheme due to the trade being at the end of training camp, and then missed time with concussions. Still, I'd love them to get him 10-15 snaps if he's earned it. I think he's a better physical matchup for the kind of game the Bills like to play than Williams is.

Weather as of now is temps in the mid 30's and more importantly winds in the 20's. If that holds up it benefits the Pats running game and short passing game. Allen has a cannon to cut the wind but if the accuracy isn't there it could lead to some turnovers.

I am optimistic that Wade will develop into a starter at CB but he has played fewer than 10 defensive snaps all year and is definitely not a replacement for Dugger….who really can’t be fully replaced, because of his unique blend of speed and size/physicality.

Just for this game, I mean. If they have Mills be the replacement, I have a queasy feeling. Mills have been quite underwhelming, so far.

Reaction if we beat Buffalo in Buffalo: Oh crap. these guys again.

Reaction if we beat Buffalo in NE by a lot: No, I sort of liked _______, but New England was always my main team.

Looking forward to Bills fans when they realize we just loaned em the keys to the division while we replaced the Cam.

These injury reports have been the same all season: 8 to 12 players listed as questionable every week yet they mainly always all play. BB continues to play the NFL with their dumb rules. I doubt any team takes these reports seriously unless a player is listed as Out. I know I don't.

They'll be fine like they've been all season. Pats have been lucky this season with injuries. The only injury that hurt the team was Brown, who lost half the season. Even Sweet Feet hasn't been missed.

i think most fans are already pretty nervous. Just many may not be willing to admit it. 6 convincing wins in a row is what it is

I think we will miss J Jones in the long run. But that is pretty minor compared to other teams. Let's hope "minimal injuries" continues.
