After 12 games with Mac: which QBs would you take right now over him?

From this past draft, Trevor Lawrence for sure. He is still a superior QB playing in a bad situation. Lawrence on the Pats would be the OROY leader right now like Jones.

As of right now, I would still take at least a half dozen veteran QBs. That could change over time when we start to see what Jones' true ceiling is.

FWIW, I asked because I think it's an interesting question, and even if you love Jones you might still be willing to take some players over him.

I love that this is an apples to apples comparison, but it's far from realistic. If Brady was here at even $25 M we don't get to add the D/O talent that has rounded out the team. We saw what Brady with **** talent was when they lost to the Titans in the playoffs. Can't we be happy for the GOAT for moving on and winning "another" while we moved on, sucked for a year, and set ourselves up for another long run after just one bad season. It was the right move for all involved. BRADY was NOT winning #7 here with that talent. I'm happy for him AND I'm selfishly happy for me that I don't have to live in the Cleveland, Jets, Miami purgatory of hoping for the savior to come along.

"Played well" is a stretch. He was adequate against both teams, even if Tampa's secondary was crippled. Had a killer pick 6 against Dallas. No the losses don't entirely fall on him they fall mostly on the coaching staff who were too scared to let him try to beat those teams. Conceding the half and kicking that high risk low reward FG were ridiculous. Either way he hasn't beaten an elite team yet.

What Brady did in his first year is irrelevant. Mac will never belong in the same sentence as the GOAT. Mac has not demonstrated he can elevate his team yet. Neither could Alex Smith. A guy like Smith could be really good if his team is. Maybe Mac is just like that - we don't know yet, that's my point.

That Dallas "pick 6" was quickly negated by a touchdown pass that put them in the lead. At the worst it put is in the same spot with less time on the clock. Mac did just fine and that's a compliment.

Last season probably not although they probably do make the playoffs at least. This year without a doubt they'd win #7. We know the Bucs wouldn't be in the way. The talent on both sides of the ball is much better in just about every way compared to last year.

Any GM who wouldn't trade Mac for Brady right now straight up no strings attached should be immediately relieved of their duties as GM.

Why would anyone want Stafford over Mac. Stafford has to be the most overrated QB of the last 20 years.

Patriots are actually averaging more points per game than the Rams.

I'm trying not to be too much of a homer tbh lol. Stafford last few games have been bad, but he's largely a very good QB.

Tampa's secondary sucks even when they are healthy - we saw this week 1 vs Dallas and again vs LA Rams. And Mac doesn't need to elevate his team now in his first year. His time will come as he gets more accustomed to the playbook and gets acclimated to his receivers. I am confident in his abilities going forward. He has a photographic memory that even Tommy Boy doesn't have.

It would have to be somebody under 30, so Brady, Wilson and Rogers are out.

Mahones, Murray, Burrow and Allen. Watson too, maybe Prescott. while Prescott, Allen and Mahones are great- those contracts scare the **** out of me being able to field a team around someone making 40mill, you cant make a mistake while paying somebody 10 mill

Could make an argument for some other veterans like Carr and Cousins, but meh
