Belichick's record without Brady since the Brady era began

Why dont they count 2000? Brady was on the team. Bill was the coach and brady was on the team, seems like that should count. I guess if people want to ignore 18 games Bill was coach and Brady was not starting and not count that, then we can just change anything we want. Bill as the head coach of the patriots without Brady starting at QB is 33-32....thats his record on the patritos as the head coach when someone besides Brady is starting.

You don't count 2000 because the team was a disaster after Pete Carroll and required major changes simply not possible in one year.

One should be judged on that time when one's program is implemented. (Ditto Cleveland)

Only an idiot would make your suggestion and use your logic.

I hate these threads - I can’t imagine any Chicago Bull thread talking down Jordan to praise Phil and vice versa.

We had the best run of all time which will never be repeated because we had the greatest player ever and the greatest coach ever in the toughest sport in America.

Brady in his first year with another team after some initial teething issues and mid-season struggles took a team which hadn’t made a playoff since 2002 and won them a SB - with some great talent around him no doubt.

Bill after one year figuring out what this team is without Brady is now looking at potentially being top 2 in the conference in his second year without him.

I have followed Brady and the Bucs closely and obviously the Patriots closely - I watch Bucs games and think **** if only they had Bill they wouldn’t lose a game and I watch Patriots game this year thinking if we had Brady we would’ve won that or blown them away.

I wish Mods would do a better job on this forum - you have a Brady/Bucs thread in a separate board which I understand why - but then you have people like MAC10 who jump in their and decides to cause conflict in their because it’s not about the Pats. It’s actually ridiculous this is by far that best NFL forum in football but it’s being let down by petty infighting and ****ty mods

I like the post but disagree with the shytty mods comment.

I really don't care what their record people think it might be. 14-2. 15-1. 12-4. Whatever.

What we do know is the latter 1/2 of the 2007 season they were no longer scoring 40ppg but 27ppg.

Same cast of characters on offense with Brady in 09 scored 26.7ppg

Maybe the 0 scores 30 a game. Fine.

The 08 starting secondary consisted of Ellis Hobbs, Delta ONeil, James Sanders and Big Bang Clock. The pass defense was horrible. They are not winning a SB with that. The pass rush dropped off significantly in 08. No Asante, Colvin or Seau.

They were 31st in red zone defense.

Rodney and AD went on IR.

Seems a lot closer to 09 outcome than 07 to me.

With the way the 08 team ended the year on a four game winning streak......they were the best team in football.

The Steelers barely beat an AZ team the Pats blew out 47-7 Week 16.

The 08 Steelers won games scoring 13-16 points with a late TD.

You’re probably right mate - the **** fighting is just ridiculous sometimes be great if mods stepped in earlier

Well yeah maybe. I don't know. I'm glad I don't have their responsibility.

I do know that I have had my own arguments with members and if those arguments ruined something for you or others I apologize.

Personally, I don't understand the vitriol towards BB or Brady. I think it's stupid. They both have provided all of us with the best twenty years that any fan base has experienced.

Anyway my apologies from my part.

This thread was to be closed after week 6, anything that happened after that should not be utilized for the purpose of evaluating Belichick. Just stating the facts, as always.

saying Bill can win NFL games without brady (which he has) doesn't take away from Brady's greatness. and saying Brady can win games without Bill doesn't take away Bill's greatness. not sure why it has to be one or the other.
It doesn't have to be one or the other but too many posters want to make it that way and stir up the other side by calling them "haters."

LOL. So does that mean KCs DC is better than Bill because they absolutely curb stopped the Cowboys while Dak put up the most yards on a Belichick defense ever.
No, it means the #2 offense in the league is going to score points when your offense turns it over three times giving them three more opportunities.

We had turnovers that game that lead to points.....If you have an issue with my post, go talk to Lazar about it, he's the one that made it, which I totally agree with. Don't want to see any hate for my team or my coach, take that somewhere else.

The anti-BB crowd is flailing.

It's not hate. It is a ridiculous statement as you could do that with any team like I just did with Dallas. That being said, Bill really does seem to have a beat on that Chargers offense which is why I hope they end up being one of the WCs or even take the West as we match up well vs them.

I never understood how a fan of our team could be so negative toward our coach...especially the greatest coach of all time....just doesn't make sense to me....I guess they would rather jump ship and root for another team which is fine, but why then stay on a Patriot fan site.

I just posted what Lazar said..and he does have a lot of street credibility...and it's true...we're not talking about any other qb, just Herbert.

Belichick will be just fine.

It really does not matter who said it. Bill has lost to Tua twice too. See how ridiculous that is?
