Why Not Us?

Right now I'm feeling 11-6 and one playoff win.

Decision soon

No question the NFC is more stacked. Better passing teams which are not great matchups for our DBs. However if the pass rush keeps doing what it's been doing that covers up a lot of coverage problems.

There’s a market correction happening right now in the NFC. Those top teams are good, but there won’t be five teams that win 13+ games. Just as people thought before the season, the Packers, Bucs, and Rams are all solid. The Cowboys are better thsn expected but are also cleaning up in a pitiful division. The Cardinals are a bit of a surprise too, but they’re doming back to earth.

The AFC elites will separate too. Chiefs, Bills, Ravens, and maybe the Patriots will join them. A lot of these “contenders” like the Raiders, Chargers, Bengals, etc. fooled everyone again with a few upsets, but they’re going back to their pecking order now.

Split w. Buffalo and beat Titans at Gillette gives Pats good shot at #1 seed. Its definitely in play
I did this today but I got to the point at the where i gave myself a head ache. I think if I did it right that if they split with Buffalo, we'd need (gasp) Tommy to beat the Bills 12/12 to be in a tie at 5 losses, assuming both teams win the rest. I think they'd have the tie breaker with a better division record, thanks to that stupid Miami loss week one.

To your point, however, it's there to talk about at this point. Take care of business from here and they are in the drivers seat. Go 2-1 out of the three Titans and Bills games and they are still good to make the post season but not likely the #1 unless Buffalo falls on their ass, not likely, and that doesn't even begin to look at the Ravens. Go 1-2 or winless and they could still make it with help. Lots of football left, as we like to say around here.

If they go 3-0 in those games, all the Bill haters heads will explode.

We are totally in play for the 1 seed but for that we probably need to win out. If you can get to the SB anything can happen. But I still think that the winner of the SB this year is in the NFC. I think there are at least 3 teams in the NFC (LA, Ari and GB) that are better than the best teams in the AFC.

Ticket prices just to get in this year's SB are around 8K....

Never before has a rookie QB won a super bowl...

There’s only one reason Ben Roethlisberger didn’t win in 2004: the unlucky occurrence of having to play an all-time great Patriots team in the postseason. And anyone who thought he lost that game just because he was a rookie must be ignoring the last fifteen years of the Steelers losing to those same Patriots.

There just haven’t been many rookies in position to win a Super Bowl, playing at a high level and on a real contender.
