OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Unfortunately, Siemens might actually be a better QB then Jamies.

When Siemens was with the Broncos, he reminds me of Daniel Jones, a good QB who makes too many untimely interceptions.

Take away many of those interceptions, which Payton probably can do and he'll be a competent game manager, no worse then Jameis.
I completely disagree. I think Siemian is awful. Too bad the Orangemane does not exist anymore as I would direct you to the many threads on just how awful he is. He has very little arm talent, makes poor decisions all the time and is like a deer in headlights in the pocket. I would be surprised if Payton went with him over Hill but I suppose there is a possibility.

Well overall I think the Bucs are still fine. They get their bye, get their guys back and ca run the table. A lot of us had the Saints game yesterday as a loss to begin with
Even though many kind of suspected the game would turn out that way, it's still disappointing.

But if NE and the Bucs continue to win games. Don't be surprised to getting more favorable calls. Just imagine the ratings for a NE vs Bucs SB.

I don't get the chest thumping and chirping about Brady's pick 6. Brady said nothing bad about the Patriots. Bill and Tom made their peace after week 4. I would get it if Brady was talking trash about the Pats but he's done just the opposite he even said our Patriots are the least favorite team he's beaten.

That play had zero impact to the 2021 Patriots season and changes nothing about the narrative that Brady has proven himself without Bill but Bill has not done the same to date without Brady

Brady's team barring catastrophic injuries are still on track to win their division and I still think they have a good chance to repeat.

Winston had a sky high ceiling in raw talent that was probably wasted by an awful coaching staff in Tampa combined with how he’s a complete moron. With Peyton he was actually looking like the number 1 overall pick. Him being out is a huge loss for them I think it’s dumb to say otherwise.

I hope you are right lol. But Hill the QB takes away Hill the do it all player which is a key missing player.

Yeah. It is a tough spot for Payton. There is talk they may look at Newton. LOL LOL LOL

He looked like hot garbage to me. Every 3rd down was 1 read and run and sometimes it looked like it was a called pass and he didn't even bother with 1 read and ran. This forces defenses to put a defender on the QB and they abuse favorable rules that make defenders scared to touch them. He happened to run into White last night and it's unfortunate he may be out but what do these QBs expect. I've felt like this for years and I remember 2 or 3 years ago Chung rang Allen's bell because the dude kept trying to run and get an extra 3 yards and the world went crazy. The QB has no business doing that **** and if they do they should be prepared to get mauled. That's how it should be. You get to the playoffs and when a QB does it we will be wowed by it but now it's just every down for some QBs and every 3rd down for others. These guys stink.

Lol are they really people in this forum cheering the Brady pick 6??? That's really unfortunate. We should all root for him except when he plays the Patriots

He didn't look anything like a number one overall to me. It has been Kalmara that has been running that O. If anything, Payton seems afraid of Winston and was keeping him bottled up. The offense actually got more dynamic with Siemian. LOL

The INT taken away was weak call also but a penalty
I don’t have necessarily a problem with the call on the roughing the passer because by the letter of the rule, it’s a penalty. I have a problem with them missing a blatant forearm to the head that ripped off the guy helmet. Bucs Dline was held all game long it wasn’t called once. I have a problem with missing 2 blatant defensive holding on the the first Brady pick.

It was a penalty but it was weak. I prefer crews that won't call ANY of that kind of stuff because there are no crews that will call ALL of the weak stuff. Just like you said... they cant be consistent when making ticky calls because there would be too many and they miss big holds and call small game changing nonsense. It's best to call almost nothing but the hardcore stuff. Some crews do a better job of that and then some crews throw flags every 4 plays and then decide to not call anything in the 4th and it keeps games close.

Or maybe not.

I agree with this. Says it all if even Payton who has coached against him lots of times says no thanks.

Still an unanswered question why the Pats decided to re-sign him in the first place but at least they saw what ever it was they needed to see and moved on.

Brady's situational IQ has gone down since he left new england. Down by 1 in the 4th, you just need to dink and dunk your way to field goal range. At this point he is too in love with his arm and his lack of patience at his age is showing. it's killing the team ability to win close games. He needs a Belichick to balance his impulse, Arian is not that guy.

Seriously? You see the situational awareness of the Pats offense the last two seasons? Pretty sure it was mostly Brady.

I really wish the Pats still had Brady but at least I won’t do mental gymnastics to try and pretend he’s somehow now less good because he’s not here anymore to make myself feel better.

That’s the first close game they lost in about a year. In between were multiple fourth quarter comebacks.

Is it Brady or is it the OC Leftwich and Arians? It's a collaboration. We all knew that Brady is going to make more shots down the field for this team. Bucs aren't about situational football like the Pat's are. It's a lesson learned they can take down the road.

Hopefully his back is fine...

Yeah I’m legit frightened. He was back on the sidelines fine which is good I guess. But it being his back I worry he’s gonna get news that he really just shouldn’t play any longer.

The good news is the bye. Last year the bucs coaching staff & team got their **** together after the bye. Penalties dropped and stupid way downfield high risk passes every series of downs stopped. I hope there is similar introspection this season vs "We're champs. Our **** doesn't stink."
Also good is that players sidelined from the defensive backfield plus Gronk and hopefully AB return to the field.
The outlook could be very good. Of course, I'm a wicked homah.
