OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Overall I keep saying it but the refs this year look like they are calling penalties to keep games close and I don't like it.
Yup, it's being heading that directions for years. Best way to keep as much of the fan base hooked and engaged.

The Saints have TB12 number. In all the games they've played including the playoffs, they struggle mightily against the Saints on offense.

The Giants, Broncos, and now Saints

It's weird. Brady using the short passing game to get the winning FG is usually like nothing to him. But it seems like once in a blue moon he'll be a little impatient, and yesterday will happen. The first down throw was oddly deep too and didn't feel right. He usually takes the drive-starter, the 6-8 yard pass or whatever, and away he goes. Just felt like an odd case of impatience.

But you know, nothing goes in a straight line. There's the little bit of angst here, to set up the Super Bowl run later.
I know Brady will get the blame because the O was last in the field but this loss is 100% on the D and the refs. Until that pick 6 I thought that it was probably Brady best games as a buccaneers against the saints.

The bucs D is an embarrassment. So undisciplined. How can you go offside on a 3rd and 5 with 2 secs left on the play clock? It’s mind boggling. Devin White is also embarrassing this year. He believes too much in his own hype. He has been awful this year. The D gave up 6 1st down on penalties on NO 3rd downs.

What can you say about the refs? They have been awful all year long but this must be one of the worst performance of the year. Bucs D line was being held on every play. Saint never got called for holding once. Winfield INT being wiped off because of a slight push by Gholston on Semian while ignoring that the NO linemen ripped his helmet off and had his forearm across his face. On the first Brady pick, they are two blatant defensive holding on Godwin and Johnson and again no call. It was awful.

Anxiously awaiting more Gronk news.

Brady threw a bad pass on the last drive no question about it but overall he was 28/40 with multiple drops for 375 yds and 4 TD. He barely put the ball on the ground. I don’t think he struggle that much.

Nah it's on Tom as much as I hate to say it. We already knew how decimated the Bucs Defense is in the secondary. Bucs had 3 turnovers on offense and that last pick was horrible and he had plenty of time as well.

2 INT and a Fumble that's a bad game. That's what Mahomes been doing these past few weeks

Exactly.

But the Bucs did it to themselves. Sloppy mistakes at inopportune times along with the no risk it approach at the end allowed the refs to determine the outcome of the game.

The Bucs are not the favored this year.

That too. He played played like Jameis did in his time with the Bucs. Brady was awesome until bad Brady showed up. Then he was awesome again. Then bad Brady came back.

Brady wadnt horrible and it shows that if he makes mistakes they lose. The 15 yard penalties were hard to watch. The INT taken away was weak call also but a penalty. There are 1 or 2 crews that can officiate and I don't know why the NFL doesn't try and get all groups to call games the same.

The offensive coordinator Leftwich has to take equal blame too. He's the one calling these no risk it plays at the end.

It is week 8. Everyone calm down. I believe the Bucs were 6-2 last year and got whooped worse by the Saints at home. Losing Winston is a huge deal for the Saints. They are not going anywhere with Hill or Siemian. The bye should hopefully help the Bucs straighten some things out on defense and also get healthy. The refs had as much to do with that loss as the Bucs D IMO. The calls were awful and absolutely one-sided. Such is life. This team is still in prime position to get the #1 seed.

I'm not sure why the clown is in here this morning talking about horse collars when he would be the first one claiming the opposite of whatever stance he has right now if it served him. So many penalties it was insane but the team wasn't disciplined either. I missed both endings because of Halloween so not sure what happened on the Brady INT.

What about Sean Payton though? Did you guys see the video of the locker room afterwards? It was like a night club and Winston was dancing on crutches. You have to give it to them and to Payton, they know how to get it done. That was a clutch win even with all the penalties. Overall I keep saying it but the refs this year look like they are calling penalties to keep games close and I don't like it.

Because he's a clown.

Nfl also needs to remove the slide protection of QBs. You run your watch yourself because all this is allowing is lesser players like hurts and many others to run around and be untouchable. Defenses having to keep a guy on QB is not how it was meant ti be played. I'm sure I'll get blasted but it's ruining it for me.

Well overall I think the Bucs are still fine. They get their bye, get their guys back and ca run the table. A lot of us had the Saints game yesterday as a loss to begin with

Heard talk about the Saints looking at Cam Newton as an option at QB.

Yes please do that! :D

Unfortunately, Siemens might actually be a better QB then Jamies.

When Siemens was with the Broncos, he reminds me of Daniel Jones, a good QB who makes too many untimely interceptions.

Take away many of those interceptions, which Payton probably can do and he'll be a competent game manager, no worse then Jameis.

Looks like Henry may be out for the season with a foot injury. That is huge for Brady's MVP chances and also for the Pats as if we get to face TN without Henry that is HUGE.

Both of these are true. But unfortunately we also would have really liked the Titans to beat the Rams which now seems implausible.
