Is it time to be concerned about Trent Brown?

Wait how did they even practice lol?
It's a new strategy. If he practices with only the C on the line, he can see 4 fat dudes coming right at him so he gets used to the visual.

Then, during the game, when they put four more fat dummies on the line, he'll have the illusion of being protected. It's really brilliant if you think about it.

Just asking .....would this type of injury show up during the pre contract medical ?? It was known about in LA ??

would it show u in a pre contract medical? you mean the calf muscle tear? only if the muscle was already torn
was it known about in LA? I assume you mean LV? No.

Sorry that should have been LV Raiders...dont have enoough medical knowledge but just wonder if muscle tears/strains would show up on ultrasound etc.....anyway just got to hope the rest helps hear the ailment.

ONE healthy O lineman at practice today...ONE. Do they (Pats) WANT to get their kid QB murdered before the halfway point or what?
This. Mac will be in a body bag before too long. Watching him get abused behind this ramshackle OL is like watching Drago vs Apollo

I am a little worried since initially it didn't seem to be anything that was serious and he wasn't put on short term IR. Fast forward a month and he still isn't even practicing. I am starting to think we might see and IR stint then we would be in real trouble with this offensive line.

He was a beast during SB 38 while at the same time shutting up Warren Sapp, always a good thing in and of itself.

Ok, so Russ wasn't great... There were a few little ****ups here and there... But he really was a decent plug and play fill the gap player... Solid depth imo...

The knock on Brown has always been motivation. Highlighted by Scar himself where he eluded he had to learn that there were going to be days where Trent just wasn't going to run/practice hard.

I think the oline struggles including Brown taking his sweet time rehabbing - are prob all attributed to the sudden+ rapid coaching changes. Just my guess. I don't think there is a ton of accountability in the room right now and I don't think they have a leader in there who's going to grab facemasks and tell guys to man up.

One thing about 12 is he wasn't afraid even on the sideline to give it to him olinemen if they were struggling. Mac being a rookie ..I could see him still being a little timid in that respect...but he might have to be the guy to stand up and say "what the F*@(_("

To answer the question - I was worried about this signing the day it happened.
We got lucky in 2018, but he's not someone you can trust - both in consistency, and mostly health.
He's too big, he's going to be hurt all the time. Now we have to figure out the year with backups.

disagree with the 1 or 2 week prognosis... whoever made that was woefully underestimating how bad calf injuries are... they take a long time to heal, especially for a big guy like brown... a busted calf is as bad as a hamstring injury...
Correct. A pulled calf muscle is more of a 6-8 week deal, minimum. I pulled mine a year ago and it still feels like it could pull again if I jumped off that leg. Sunday will be 4 full weeks since the injury. He should have been put on IR without question. I'd even consider putting him on IR right now and hope he's ok in 3 weeks for game 8.

If he's got a history of pulling this particular calf muscle, that's not good.

I am not worried. You look at his Instagram page today and you see that Brown was moving really well last night while out in Boston partying it up for his girlfriend's birthday. If he move his way around the buffet table, it is only a matter of time before he is blocking DEs and OLBs, right?

Seriously, what was this guy thinking actually posting videos of him out on the town on a week night when he didn't practice that morning nor practice today? Really bad look for a guy who has had his motivation questioned many times in the past.

I've mentioned this myself in different respects. Hurrying guys up to the line, moving his targets around, general command on the field. Don't want to upset the fanboys or sound like I'm nitpicking but this is his offense now. Practice, film study, locker room etc he needs to be a little more vocal imo about what's going on. Even if it isn't well received at first.

Can you post the video? I'd like to see that move around the buffet table to assess his conditioning since he's ghosted practice.
