OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

If the officiating hadn't been as bad as it was, the Patriots lose by about 14.

Game changing blown calls (yes, there were bad calls on both sides, but these were huge):

Calling Meyers' fumble a non-fumble
Hands to the face call against Smith
Not calling the false start on Wynn
The O.P.I. call on Evans when Jackson had him in a bear hug
That ridiculous P.I. call over the middle at the end of the game
The one I don't understand was the muffed punt.

The moment the kick returner touches the ball the possession switches to the returning team.

If the possession is changed then shouldn't that touchback have actually been a safety?

At the very least shouldn't the ball have stayed at where the returner muffed it?

The muffed punt isn’t considered like a fumble ? If that’s the case, I think yeah it should have been a safety

I don’t know how great Gilmore is at this stage of his career. But he isn’t Ramsey, and I doubt he’s better than guys like Alexander or Lattimore. The Bucs have had to deal with better CBs anyway. I think Kansas City is the only team that significantly improves, thiugh it’s their run defense that‘s atrocious.

Pats aren’t likely to trade him to KC if that’s the Avenue they want to take.

was he following them BEFORE today?
I’m assuming Brady and Gronk. He started following Licht and Arians today from what I read, and I doubt he was following so many of the other guys before today. I wish it told when.

I’m sure he’d love to play there. Who wouldn’t? Weather, Brady, championship contender, no state income tax. And he’s from South Carolina. But I think he’s going for top dollar. Likely his last deal.

Maybe he plays a prove it year with Tampa, potentially win a ring, and skyrockets his value for the off-season

Too old for that. If he hits the market now is the time for him to max his value if that is indeed what he's looking for.

Davis is out long term and so is SMB. Not sure what that means in terms of weeks. I think the phony contract for Gilmore is in play now.

If by long term you mean 4 weeks then yes long term.

Not sure what that means in regards to what we already know. I assumed Davis is out at least a month and Murphy-Bunting probably sometime after Thanksgiving, based on their injuries. If it starts to be a question of them returning this season at all, my tune will change.

I'm still trying to figure out why the hell Davis was playing special teams under the circumstances.

I think Arians said somewhere or maybe a twitter beat reporter said they wanted to be prepared for a fake punt or something like that
