Patriots officially sign Jamie Collins

That screen play vs the Bucs comes to mind. That LB can’t remember his name diagnosed it right just couldn’t get there in time maybe lack of speed to wrap the player up.

Collins athleticism helps him make that play late in the game imo.

"since it worked so well in 2019"

It did, they were the #1 defense in points, yards (#2 pass & #6 run) and 3rd down, #2 in turnovers forced, #7 in sacks Brady pouting and the offense was the problem that year. defense held the titans to 14 points in that playoff game, shut them out in the 2nd half. Just needed 1 FG drive in the 2nd half to win that and Brady and the offense couldn't muster one up.

I get what you're saying, but they did fall apart the second half of the year.

Brady and BB's roster. That team BB put around Brady may not beat a lot of SEC teams. BB mightily ****ed the offense up. Don't write it that way, it should be fair and balance like Foxnews.

The defense fell off, but the blame for what happened at the end of 2019 has to primarily go to the offense. It was extremely painful to watch week in and week out and hasn't ever really gotten back to its old self since then, which makes it easier for me to remember because I saw it as recently as the Saints game.

Damn I must be Nostradamus based on that thread title.

Amen. I will still gladly take him over Tavai in a heartbeat. We just need a guy with speed.

but they did fall apart the second half of the year.

they really didn't though, only bad games they had was against baltimore and houston, people will say the miami game but that should have been a 24-20 win, Brady's pick-6 was the difference in that one and they did more than enough to beat the chiefs holding them to 20 points, got boned by the refs in that one and then in the playoff game they played well enough to win, if someone told you Pats held a team to 13 points at home in playoff game with Brady at QB you'd assume that was a W.

You're so close to the right answer. Just realize BB basically leaves the offense to someone. Keep going with how crappy the offense has been across you name it, OLine, no running game, not protecting Mac, red zone issues. I'll come back to you in a couple weeks. Baby steps. -Morpheus

2019 Pats were one of the worst 12-4 teams I’ve ever seen. Started 8-0 beating up on bad teams. Then went 4-4 the rest of the way, 4-5 if you count the playoff loss.

Which is weird, because in 2018, they were 11-5, but I KNEW they were better than their record. And they proved so in the playoffs.

I have to go with Jah. The blame was on the offense, but the defense dropped off from record breaking to not even top 5.

I think Brady checked out after October. I've never seen a Pats team like this in the BB era. So bizarre. It flipped the script of the Pats getting better as the season went on.

I hope Collins can revert to the best version of himself. But with Anderson going down, Tavai probably out, and hopefully Bentley returning, this makes sense for another versatile front-7 guy. Also, Van Noy has been all air - which he seemed to me by his last year here too. I haven't liked him since his immaturity show when he went to MIA. He just doesn't seem super dialed in, like he gets overhyped and more concerned with the high fives and locker room fun, than actually playing every snap with 100% focus.

Yeah that year had potential the Miami game messed it up big time too. Letting Fitzmagic score at Gillete with a 1st round bye on the line...who knows what wouldve happened if we got that 2 seed

All main stream news. All of them suck and aren’t anyone’s friends. At this point it’s foolish to critique one over the other. They’re all poison. They will continue to sell this country out in the name of views and clicks for profit. Again, all of them. If you’re going to consume, the least one can do is view with extreme speculation and hesitancy.
