This team is supposed to be better than last year’s team but I’m seeing some of the same problems. Be grateful cam isn’t starting.

RK and BB shelled out all that cash last spring for some better pass catchers. Hunter Henry, Kendrick Bourne and Nelson aghlor are solid not dynamic options but so far they’ve been pedestrian. Traded for Trent brown who is one of the best tackles in the league and he’s made of glass.

this group just hasn’t gotten it together yet and they’re going to have to soon.

Now that everyone knows the OLine sucks and the OC sucks, I'm just gonna say it: re-signing Cam Newton makes sense for Mac's long term health and development.

.
Unless there was an injury, that would make Bill look really bad and wouldn’t go well with Mac.

At some point all the diversions and excuses can't mask anymore that the oc is a fraud. I don't think BB is a fraud given he has a Superbowl gameplan beating the Buffalo Bills in the Hall of Fame, before Brady was ever drafted... but the oc is a fraud.

The problem for Josh is that he hasn’t evolved like he did in ‘07 and ‘08. I’m pretty sure defenses feel the Pats are an easy team to defend.

Harry is supposed to be back for Sunday.

Sans a huge breakout, I'm assuming he's on a different team next year?

Josh is extremely easy to defend. He never learned past his 1 offseason trip to see Urban Meyer 15 years ago. This is part of the problem when your oc is a dummy in the overall intelligence department. Dumb guys with a ton of experience eventually learn 1 thing, but are screwed if they have to adapt or learn something else new (or it takes a very long time to learn something new)

I highly doubt he returns next week. He seems to milk injuries. He took 3 extra weeks off for some reason after he was cleared in 2019.

The team, specifically the front 7, plays much better when they are playing downhill and agressive. Especially noticeable agains the run. The LBs look way too slow to fill gaps when they are reading and reacting.
Yeah this is the problem with 250+ pounds ILB. Only Uche and Dugger provide some serious athletic there

So he's essentially gone after this year. I assume?

Yep, plays look stale. No movement pre snap or different formations. Everything looks too similar.

I also think the last thing this team needs right now is another rusty skill position player who doesn't have chemistry with the rest of the guys yet. Give him a few weeks of practice and let him come into a role with a (hopefully) more gelled group of receivers then see what he can do. But right now their problems on offense are as much about guys being out of sync with Mac and each other as it is a pure talent issue. Adding another unproven player to that mix isn't going to help much and may actually hurt in the short term.

No movement presnap is bonkers. Presnap motion is a massive help for the QB to figure out zone vs man. The oc is a combination of dumb and/or looking for his next job.

alot of the plays Mcdaniels are calling are vanilla plays. No motion or unique formations. Those plays are easy to defend against

I would imagine McD hates his job. When he looks around the NFL and sees all the dynamic play makers on the top teams and then looks at Smith and Henry, he has to be so depressed.

Harry for Kelce? We need a WR, or a TE with hands.

I'm hoping that they are saving a can of whoop-ass for the Bucs game but I won't hold my breath...

It's like the movie John Malkovich. McDaniels is the loser who doesn't realize it's actually him sucking that is the root cause. He always has a million excuses. The Pats have talent but this guy doesn't know how to put it together. It's just like he torpedoed the Denver franchise but within a couple years they won a ring without him.
