Anyone else stoked for the matchup against Brady and the Bucs?

LMAO all these Brady/Belichick debates always turns into that Philly SB loss as if Belichick threw the game out of spite of Brady. Like he didn't want to win the game for his own ego. Obviously Butler crossed a line and Belichick, being a hard-ass like he is, wasn't going to compromise. But him being a hard-ass is also the reason why we've celebrated all the success the team has had. I don't fault Brady for not wanting to deal with the type of coach Belichick is anymore, but I also don't fault Belichick for not sacrificing his integrity because it's what he knows and what has made him successful. Anyone who minimize what Brady did for the Pats is a clown. And anyone who minimize Belichick's impact is also a clown. There's a lot of clowns arguing.

No one is minimizing what Brady did in SB 52. However, despite the fact that Butler was not on the field all game, Brady DID have the ball with 2:08 left in the 4th with the game on the line. That is a fact.

Some of you realize the Pats won the SB the following year right, without Butler, right?

Malcolm Butler did not have a good AFCCG, nor did he have a good season. There is no proof that Butler would have done anything that day. The greater likelihood is Brady leading his team to the GW touchdown with 2:08 left without fumbling the ball.

There’s no proof that, if Brady hadn’t fumbled, the team would have lost by less than 8. Maybe he would have driven them downfield and then James White would have fumbled…then the Eagles would have scored a TD on a long run and there would have been no chance to even try a hail mary.

This is exactly the same reasoning you’re using. Yeah, it was bad, but how do we know for certain the alternative wouldn't be worse? We don’t.

Typical bs from you.

You guys have to stop letting losers derail your threads. Half of this thread belongs in the Brady forum. I think if Mac plays it super safe in the Saints game and just lets/hopes Winston gives the Pats the victory.. We will get to see how good Mac Jones really is in the game vs. the Bucs. So I am excited for it..

Will Mac attack the field downfield - and try to create chunk plays - or will he only throw to the easiest most wide open receiver every time - which will usually be a halfback or tight end 3 yards away..

The Jets game was a little scary in that perhaps Mac isn't the guy.. You can't win with someone who can't make any chunk plays.. I don't think Mac is like that - but we don't know until he is pressed into it. Clearly if the team is well ahead he will just play it safe. Which is admirable..

What are the odds that Brady leads the team to a late 4th quarter TD vis a vis Butler saving the defense? I think almost any rational person would say the odds heavily favor Brady....

Bob going next level "open mouth" must have really irked Tommy Sr

On one drive versus an entire game?

And our top corners played in that game and neither were benched and publicly humiliated for no good reason. And they were one of the reasons why the Patriots will hold the Super Bowl record for fewest points allowed probably for a very long time. Funny how that works :)

And it really doesn't matter what state of mind Butler might have been in. He didn't have to win MVP that day. Just make the 1 or 2 plays on third down that would have flipped the outcome. Eagles scored on all but one of their drives where they had a 3rd down conversion. It was a 1 score game so that would have been enough.

And nothing Brady could have done about that other play. Mason was beaten clean and the ball got punched out. Sht happens. The Eagles were a good defense and it was only a matter of time before they made a play. I will not acknowledge Brady lost the Super Bowl because he did anything but. His coach did and we still don't know why.

The worst part is that if Mason doesn’t get beaten so badly and can just block for half a second longer then the ball is out of Brady’s hand when the defender gets there and White gets 10+ yards.

It's only been 2 games - that's not enough to know for sure if Mac is the guy. I'd love to think he is and there's lots of promise. But there have been plenty of QB's drafted in the first round who have flamed out or relegated to backup. Rosen for example. That's why I'm looking forward to seeing Mac against a defense like this.

Pats have zero shot to win this game unless Mac can push the ball downfield. The Bucs are the wrong team to play the short game. I hope they give him the freedom to take the smart chances and attack.

Beaten badly? The ball needed to be out. Brady stepped up to throw and double clutched, and had cement shoes again. Just because he is Tom Brady, it doesn't mean he gets 5+ seconds on every drop back.

And the D won that SB outright like a few others in the last 20 years. So did TBs D this past year. This idea that Brady has only been supported in TB is an outright lie.

this is exactly how they won the first 2 SBs with brady. The knock on brady was the same - short throws, system QB, its his oline, his hands are small etc etc. Not saying mac is brady but the narrative is always the same. He throws deep and gets picked -"whey are they letting him throw deep? he has a weak arm!"
This is a multi yr project. Hopefully mac jones will put on some muscle and arm strength and his game will improve in a yr or two regarding throwing deep and fastballs.

What? It was about two and a half seconds. He took the snap, took one look downfield because the big play had been there all night, then quickly went to try and throw to White but the defender was already there to hit the ball as soon as he went to release it.

Correct. He's not always going to get 5+. I mean, look, the guy has had brain farts during plays before. He's not perfect. I don't understand why some of you simply can't admit that.

If he catches the ball Amendola throws him earlier, the clock goes and it's quite possible that play leads to at least 3 points and NE wins that SB.

The irony of him dropping an easy catch with no one around him.

He was wide open, but the throw still could have been better. Especially given the fact that it was to a slow 40 year old who had a busted hand two weeks prior. I could see putting the full blame on Brady if the ball has been right to him but he was having to reach out for it.

Blaming the greatest QB who ever lived for a goofy play that should have never been in the playbook in a Super Bowl is just lol.

I guess we did have a QB last year who could make that catch. Caught a TD pass in week 17. How did that experiment turn out?

Again, excuses. Every player is to be held accountable. We aren't the Jets, thankfully.

Your attitude is why BB didn't want to work with Brady anymore. Brady has probably been scanning messageboards for 10 years seeing all these Brady minions act like he is above the team, and then he runs home to Giselle and lives in that bubble. Then, it's an interview with creepy Jim Gray every week. He'll end up like Howard Hughes in about 10 years and be living out of a hotel in Vegas with Giselle and Tom Brady Sr will be galivanting around behind them.

It's exactly why he isn't here. Brady thought he was above everyone else. He turned into a snob. Ignoring receivers, losing SBs over it, thinking he didn't need a run game, losing SBs over it, etc.

I had no idea if Brady had a majoar gaffe in a SB, we're supposed to act like it didn't matter. Thanks for the tip.

Wow. More excuses.

He slowed up running. The ball was perfect. He was clearly afraid someone might be around to hit him. If he kept running through the perfect pass, he would have caught it. There was no one around him!

Why are you engaging that idiot? He’s a man in his 50s who has been banned from the forum 17 times and keeps coming back. His account over at the Planet had to get throttled back because he ****posts so often.
