OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Anyone watch Rams-Colts? If Colts put up 24 on them can't see how Bucs don't put up another 30+. Question is can their D keep Stafford <30?

Might as well be a different team. The Rams barely beat Carson Wentz today.
Exactly. I think the Dolts beat them if Wentz didn't get knocked out of the game today! It's going to be a helluva game! The Bucs can definitely pull it out & on the other hand they could also lay a egg. Looking at their schedule @ Rams & @ Patriots are their toughest stretch of games for the remainder of the way IMO!

You mean that the Rams barely won a road game against a playoff team from last year? They won. How is that something to dismiss? After all, the Bucs barely beat the Cowboys, despite playing at home.

The injured secondary is a concern against Kupp and Woods.

How is the Rams offensive line?

Wentz isn’t Phillip Rivers

Rams will be the first true test of this Bucs team.

They rely on the run to establish PA. Bucs can stop the run.

The difference with Brady's touchdown numbers this season very well could be Arians willingness to throw the ball instead of running in that 1-3 yard range.

I feel like the only season Brady really did that here was 2007, and even that wasn't at the rate guys like 2013 Manning or 2020 Rodgers were doing it.

If teams are going to leave Gronk and Evans single covered with the ball inside the 5 (maybe even the 10), the significant size advantage that gives the Bucs means that's going to be a pass a lot more often than not.

Feel like the AFC is wide open.
Looks like it's still the Chefs to lose to me. Their defense sucks but Mahomes Kelce and Hill still doing whatever they want to Opposing defenses.

Agree. Mahomes is head and shoulders above Jackson, Allen, Carr, Mayfield, etc. Chiefs are still the top team, but they’re quite vulnerable to getting knocked off in the playoffs. Their defense really does suck. It lowers their overall peak performance capability.

Yeah they could easily be 0-2 as well. The offense needs to be flawless.

There’s zero doubt that, right now, Tom Brady is the best quarterback in football. Even though he’s surrounded by incredible talent on offense, he makes so many more elite level throws than anyone else. Seems like 4-5 times a game he’s pulling a magic trick. Mahomes makes some cool plays, mostly with arm angle, legs, etc, but when it comes to where the ball is actually placed, regardless of all the style points, Brady is the best. Deep passes, intermediate passes, short passes. He’s playing as well as he ever has.

Even did the sidearm pass right past a defender on Gronk's second touchdown that everyone seems to think Mahomes invented.

Very fortunate to not be 0-2.

Chubb with a rare fumble and the punter deciding to try and run instead of just punting it when he had the time to at least get it 20-30 yards off the side of his foot.

I still think they're the best team in the AFC, but are very beatable and screwed if one of their star players gets injured.
